Staying overnight in Shillington and thought we would try a Penn Dutch meal. Any recommendation based on where we are in relation to the Lancaster area??? Not crazy about buffets but rather a place w a menu selection.

St Patrick's Day--Ellenton/Bradenton?
New Englanders flying into Tampa and staying in Ellenton area for a few days. We arrive on the 17th. Anything in the Ellenton general vicinity or a few exits up or down 75 that would be fun for St Patrick's evening????

Savannah Help
We are driving south to Tampa week after Christmas and spending an overnight( probably a Tuesday) in Savannah. We will arrive 2-3 in afternoon and looking for a favorite CH spot. We don't want the tourist stops ( Paula's-Bubba's etc). and will be too late for lunch. Looking for a casual, inexpensive spot for seafood, fried chicken or even great sandwiches/appetizers that might reflect the region.

Go w Irwin rec on Yoders. I know he is big on their dessert but I never order it because I am always too full on the entree. Star Fish is another must and I also like the burger and fries at New Pass Grille & Bait across from the Mote.

I am also a Yoders fan. Their chicken is excellent and have a wide variety of sides to choose from. They have a big entree selection but I always see the chicken on the menu and never end up trying new things.
Top of the Bay - Warwick RI - Review
We went last night for first time and it was excellent. We were a party of 3 and two ordered the cajun tuna special and the other ordered the chicken marsala. I had the tuna and it may have been the best tuna I have ever had. It had a terrific sauce accompanying it. Sides were very good as well. I would definitely return to this waterfront spot.

I have used Irwin's recs. numerous times and find he is a great resource for ideas from upscale to picnic table.

TIGirl: Is Chattaways in a fairly safe area? I have been to downtown St Pete and to Tropicana area as well as St Pete Beach. But rarely to St Pete (proper) Some posters say beware of certain sections of St Pete but I am not sure where those areas are.

I have read other posters who prefer Philthy Phils to Woodys. I think they are close by each other but both have "blocked" sunset views

Looking for a favorite place to have a snack, dinner or picnic and watch the sunset in the area between St Pete beach and Longboat Key. Have been to Hurricanes for a drink and the view as well as Beachhouse on Anna Maria. Any other ideas?
Stone Crab Question
We have visited the Tampa area several times in the last year and are returning again in late October. My question concerns the price of Stone Crabs. 3 years ago we stopped at Crabby Bills in Clearwater and paid $18 for Stone Crab in October. Last year the prices in February seemed to run around $30. I saw another posting that said expect to pay $50 this year. What is a typical price to pay and does it vary from Oct versus winter.

Silver Ring Cafe Reopens in Ybor
I had a question. I only have tried the Cuban sandwich recently and really like them. My wife and I were in Ybor City last week and toured the Ybor City Museum. We asked the clerk who lived in Ybor where to get a Cuban sandwich. I mentioned Silver Ring. He said he preferred pressed Cubans and sent us to Carmines which was very crowded and the food was great. He said Silver Ring did not press their Cuban sandwiches. Is that true???

my only comment is Rotten Ralph's is located next to a Marina, and the smell of diesel fuel sometimes becomes a serious problem
I agree although I think Ralph's would be a good spot for the grandchildren.
p.s. Rotten Ralph will eventually be opening( second location??) on the new Bradenton Boardwalk.

Thanks Yosemite. We did hit Captain Curts and the food was good. But the Sone Crab was $29 so we passed and found other choices.

I can give a couple of casual suggestions that we liked. Rotten Ralph's has good seafood and a nice view from their outdoor deck. We also liked Rod and Reel Pier Restaurant.

Ybor City
Spending a day in Tampa and thought my wife and I would go to Ybor City to eat. Not looking for the bar scene but is the evening the best time to get a feel for this area? Clumbia best place to try tapas? Is the area pretty safe at night for walking around?
