Compass or Telepan?

felt that teleplan was like a beautiful girl with no personality. all the ingredients were good esp the foie gras but the overal combos did not click and several dishes were not served hot. service was outstanding

best prime rib in nyc???

absolutely second the palm especially with the bone in

great meal at harrison

the ambience was a cross between the upper east side and tribeca, which is actually a compliment. the speecial apps of fried clams and scallops with endive were superb and both the duck with foie gras and calves liver had touches that made them very interesting. the desserts were too sweet but by then i didnt care as the great service and unique cocktails were making us feel just fine. a place of real integrity and personbalized service which is unique in ny for a restaurant of that size(about 100 tops)

Another Obituary-Honmura An

heard they got big bucks so dont worry for them

sushi places for a 1st date...

agree that even yasuda has gotten a taste of sushi arrogance

gari arrogance

had to leave the sushi bar at west side gari after fifteen minutes of total avoidance from all three chefs. i thought nothing could top the rudeness of jack at bako but i am increasinglyfinding a level of haughtiness at our top sushi emporiums are we alone? fortunately went to bar at cru for great duck risotto and turley zin

loved elisabeth daniel, hence coi.thought slanted door was good to very good so poleng looked like ahipper version. never had great italian so perbacco seemed interesting and there is universal buzz on cyrus. never enjoyed fleur de lys gary danko et al as i thought too self important and not particularly generic to sf. would eat at swans or old aqua over those.loved tacquerias and never had great sushi vs ny. choices came from chron top 10 as i thought bauer was pretty consistent. price or price to value not a concern hope that helps
