What Happened to Last Licks Mini-Chain? Scarsdale, Rye Brook...

Red Mango Frozen Yogurt is moving into the spot in Rye Brook. http://ryeridgeshoppingcenter.com/fea... I've never been to one. Any reviews?

Sherwood's in Larchmont

I'm not a rib eater, but my husband loves their ribs. The Tollhouse Cookie pie dessert is quite yummy. They took the one entree I liked off the menu, and I'm wasn't thrilled with either the burger or the French dip sandwich.

Best Brunch Spots (Fairfield County - CT)?

Considering that the brunch at the Greenwich Hyatt (which was good the one time I went) is $55 a person, $30 per person doesn't seem very outrageous.

I haven't been there in years, but like Reggiano, I liked the Blue Bird Inn. Nothing fancy in the decor department, but good food.

Muscoot Inn pizza any good?

I haven't been there in a while & I never had the pizza there, but I don't think it was particularly known for it. I don't recall seeing any take-out business when I was there. When I lived nearby, there were actual pizzerias in the area, so I'd probably go with one of those over the Muscoot Inn. There was a pizzeria in Golden's Bridge that I recall being pretty good and has gotten good reviews on this board.

Silvermine Tavern to close?

That's a shame. I got married there. The brunch was great, and I thought the other food was usually good.

The pizza stinks around here!

It's a different style than typical pizza, but the individual pan pizzas at Michael's in Port Chester are quite yummy. Just two small warnings - the atmosphere is non-existent, except for the outside seating area, and the pizzas take a while to cook.

Pot Roast your best slow cooked

This one has always been a success for me: http://southernfood.about.com/od/croc...

Waterfront Grille/Euro Asian in Port Chester?

Went past there today and, yes, it's an Applebee's.

I went to Euro Asian recently and found the food to be pretty good, but not great.

Tarry Lodge: is it open for lunch ?

Anyone know if they're doing take out?

Gourmet - First Taste: Tarry Lodge, as related by bon vivant Colman Andrews [moved from Tristate Board]

I wonder where this fancy waitress is from.

Sex and the City party

Charlotte also made challah bread. Carrie made bad cheese fondue for Big once. She tried to bake a pie (apple?) for Aidan, but I think she dropped it on the floor. I can also recall the characters eating pizza and cupcakes (not at the same time). I have a lot of useless information in my brain.

Where to eat tonight (low-key) in Greenwich/Port Chester/Stamford area?

I would agree with Dolores' suggestions that I've been to (T&J's, Mary Ann's, Frank's, & Sonora, although Sonora is slightly fancier than the rest), and add Michael's Pizza in Port Chester. The decor is basically bad '70's wood paneling unless you can sit outside, but get the personal-sized pizza & enjoy.

Have 5 mo old, working pt, & pooped...what to cook?

I'm enjoying that blog, too. I have the stuffed peppers from her blog cooking in the crockpot as we speak. We've had them before and enjoyed them. The good thing about the crockpot is you can prepare everything when the kid is sleeping or someone else is around to keep an eye on the kid and keep everything it in the fridge until morning.

Cooking Light magazine also has a column of recipes that are fast, and I've usually found their recipes to be good and pretty healthy.

Best Hamburger in Fairfield County

BS&F is about a million times better than any fast food burger I've ever had. The quality of the meat tastes fine to me. Personally, I don't want a super-thick burger, because then it's blackened on the outside before the inside is cooked.

Arthur Avenue Rec for dinner

Is the wait at Zero Otto Nove as bad as at Roberto's?

Arthur Avenue Rec for dinner

I haven't been there in a long time, but this board seems to indicate that there are always long waits at Roberto's.

Personally, I like Emilia's (more casual) and Mario's (slightly more upscale) and I think you can make reservations at either. Also, De'Medici, which is about a block off of Arthur Avenue, usually doesn't have the crowds that the places on Arthur Ave. have.

Butchers in CT/NY?

I'm not sure if it counts as old fashioned, but you might want to try Greenwich Prime Meats. There's a thread about it here: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/352287

Arthur Ave for a group?

I went to Dominick's once years ago and wasn't really impressed with the food. We had a group in their upstairs area, and it looked like someone's basement with bad wood paneling. I've been to Mario's a bunch of times over the years and had pretty good experiences. Never heard of Enzo's.

anyone ever eat at Pasquales in Port Chester?

I haven't been there, but I've had other people tell me it was good. I'll be interested to see the other responses.

Hard to beat this burger - Blazer Pub

Laylag, if you ever go back to the Blazer, get the hard roll. It holds up a bit better.

Breast Practices

paigeharrison - we used to not have anything but breastfeeding and, you know what? Babies died because of it. As an adoptee, I saw thank goodness for formula.

I mostly breastfed my son when he was an infant, but there were occasions when I gave him formula for a variety of reasons. The idea that someone could be offended over that is utterly ridiculous. What reasonable people choose to feed their children is between them and their doctor. Everyone else should mind their own business.

PF Chang's - what to order?

I like the orange peel chicken (it has a bit of spice) and chicken in black bean sauce. My husband likes the Mongolian beef. I think the taste is good, but the beef is not as tender as I would like.

Hard to beat this burger - Blazer Pub

Maybe you're buying some sort of fancy meat or you have some sort of amazing grilling skills, but I find the burgers at both the Blazer & BSF to be tastier than anything I've had at my home or anyone else's home.

And I'm not quite sure why a nearly 2 year old thread on the Blazer Pub needed to be dragged back up. Certainly, it's been discussed more recently.

Frank Pepe's Disappointing

I've been to both the original and the Fairfield location quite a few times. I've always enjoyed the pizza. The service is probably more friendly at the Ffld. location, but I've never felt like I was treated like crap at either. We usually order the bottle of birch beer to avoid the small glasses.

I-95 between Stamford and Bronx

Also, Little Thai Kitchen in Greenwich: www.littlethaikitchen.com

I-95 between Stamford and Bronx

I agree this probably fits more into Tristate Region, but here are a few ideas:

Burgers Shakes & Fries in Byram - just off the Delavan Ave. exit of 95 - I highly recommend the burger with gorgonzola. See www.burgersshakesnfries.com

Q in Port Chester, NY - BBQ restaurant that has take-out, www.qrestaurantandbar.com

Sherwood's in Larchmont, NY - a bit further off 95, known for their ribs, the Tollhouse Cookie Pie desert is great...ask for the ice cream on the side for take out. www.culinarymenus.com/sherwoods.htm

RED ROOSTER IN BREWSTER :(

I haven't been there in a while, but I like the Red Rooster. I think their hot dogs & milkshakes are pretty good. I don't particularly care for hot dogs with casing, so that may be the difference. Personally, I've never had a 7-11 hot dog and likely wouldn't try one unless I was literally dying from starvation.

It's ever-so-slightly outside of Westchester, but Burger Shakes & Fries in Byram, CT has a great burger.

PF Chang --Disappointing meal

I like the orange peel chicken and black bean chicken there, and I think I've had the same asparagus dish that you mentioned and enjoyed it. I prefer their chicken dishes to what I get at the local Chinese take-out place, because it's actual white meat and not gristly.

Need Brooklyn or NY-esque Gift Ideas!

Not food, but sort of related - this store has various plates, trays, etc. with skylines from NYC and Brooklyn on them. http://www.fishseddy.com/ The melamine options might be more portable for a plane ride.

The Beach House - Old Greenwich

I'm pretty sure that the state doesn't care about a 6 year old at a bar in a restaurant with her parents unless she's being served alcohol. I read an article about this topic not too long ago, which indicated this would not be against the law, but I can't find it now.
