Special Occasions Dinner in DFW

I am looking for a place to take my wife and the in-laws for my mother-in-law's birthday. We're looking for a place that has nice food but is not stuffy. We're looking for good food without pretense.

I was thinking Lola but I've never been before.

Driving to Amarillo looking for unique roadside dining

I'm road tripping to Amarillo for a wedding. Can anyone recommend a restaurant along the way that's worth stopping for lunch at? We'll be on 287 the whole way and it's my first time out there. A cool dinner or a cool bbq joint with some history would be cool.

Late night desserts in Dallas

Is there a place in Dallas similar to the Dessert Gallery in Houston? Where they're opened to about midnight-1am and serve up desserts and coffee? Heck I'd settle for opened to about 11pm at this point.
