Sushi in Denver / Boulder

It's was hard, at first, to imagine that these landlocked outposts had anything to offer in the way of seafood. But, travelling there twice a month for a year has proved my earlier preconcieved notions wrong...way wrong.

If you're in the area and looking for good sushi, don't miss Sushi Tora in Boulder - well worth the easy drive from Denver. The owners are on site and the maguro is fresher than it has any right to be. The restaurant has a slightly upscale atmosphere with very affordable prices. It located very near the Pearl Street Mall, so a before-or-apres-dinner stroll is easy to find.

Happa Sushi, a small, regional chain, is easy to locate (both in Denver and Boulder) and well worth looking into. Very solid sushi with a little more trendy atmosphere.

Both places are very accomodating to single business travelers.

If you want your tuna grilled and donlt want to drive to Denver or Boulder (many businesses are located along Route 36 between the two cities and travelers lodge at number of hotels on this road), consider Bonefish Grille in Westminster. It is a chain, owned by Outback. But, don't let that stop you. The brilled tuna is really fresh. I like mine almost raw and they are willing to accomodate.
