Pinkberry
I love Pinkberry and was thrilled when the Garden City location opened. The pomegranate flavor is seasonal and it's one of my favorites, particularly when topped with blueberries and chocolate chips. The peanut butter flavor they recently had was wonderful, but quite rich.
I thought Newport Creamery was still open. Did the rest of them close?
PVD/RI * November * Open/Closed/Coming Soon
I noticed Cheeseboy is opening a location in the Providence Place Mall up on the 3rd floor in that food court fringe corner spot between Ben & Jerry's and Dunkin Donuts. The signage on the plywood says "Opening Winter" and there was active construction in there yesterday morning.
Macaroni and cheese
Could it be Providence's La Laiterie (the restaurant attached to Farmstead cheese shop)?

Top 10 Chain/Fast Food Items
Ooh, I somehow missed that DQ had peanut butter sauce. I've been having my peanut buster parfaits made with caramel. With the salted peanuts, it tastes like a Snickers.
Napa Valley Grille, Providence- closed
There was a mention of it on the projo.com food blog. It closed on Tuesday when corporate opted to not renew the mall lease.
Wine Fest
Along a similar line, does anyone know if the Foxwoods Food & Wine Festival is actually going to happen? They moved last year's dates to this year but it's nearly 2 months out and no info is up yet.
T's (East Greenwich & Cranston, RI) mac & cheese omelet?
I noticed that the new "seasons" menu posted on the website includes a mac & cheese omelet. It sounds so tempting to me. Has anyone tried it yet? Or at least tried their version of mac & cheese? I visited the E. Greenwich location hoping to try it, but the website menu must have been posted before the restaurant adopted it and they were still using the previous specials menu.
Market at the W Hotel-Jean-Georges in Boston
I dined at Market last night, too. I wonder if the kitchen (and servers) perhaps got overwhelmed later in the evening.
I dined solo earlier in the evening (5:30) and had the tasting menu. I didn't find my sea bass oversalted and my lamb was cooked to a perfect medium rare. There were a couple of blips in service as things got busier but nothing major. I swapped out the chocolate cake dessert for the cheesecake w/concord grape sorbet -- soooo good!
I also think I'm now addicted to their house made ginger ale.
[Providence] Fun Place to take the family after seeing "Wicked"?
I just tried Luxe today and agree that it would be a good choice. I haven't yet tried Ardeo, the new Mediterranean place that's over there, but the menu looks good.

Foods you love at Trader Joe's that got discontinued? [OLD]
I was hooked on the habanero pistachios, too. So tasty! I am down to one last bag of them.
Chains you wished you had in the USA
Is Wagamama the noodle shop? If so, there is one in Boston in the Prudential Center.
New Brazilian Restaurant in Rhode Island
I haven't tried it yet, but I did drive by and notice it was now open. It's actually in the location of the former 99 restaurant (prior to that, Weathervane). The Denny's is still open.
Amusing menu gaffes - what's yours? [moved from Boston board]
Dinner menus on Disney Cruise Line get posted in the morning at the Animator's Palate since it doesn't serve breakfast or lunch. On one morning of my Panama Canal cruise in 2005, I took a peek at the menu and saw that one of the soup/salad offerings that evening was "Essence of Leeches, Passion Fruit, Guava".
Someone caught the typo in time to run off new menus to hand out at dinner. However, there had been a full print run of the error menu and our server was able to smuggle out a "leeches" menu for our group to have as a keepsake.
Trader Joe's coming to Warwick
YES!!!!!!!!
I haven't had time to read these boards in a while, but I had a sudden urge to do some chowing. I must have a TJ's divining rod in my mouse.
With Whole Foods to the north, Trader Joe's soon to be in the south, and the new Farmstead place opening next week down the street from my workplace I'd better get back into a gym habit right away!
Any Cranston Recs?
Do you mean Sunflower Cafe on Mayfield? I used to really like that restaurant, but unfortunately it did close a while ago. I drove by there last week, though, and noticed that there was signage for a new restaurant now although it didn't look open yet.
One of my faves in Cranston is Campanella's on Oaklawn Ave. (RI directions -- where Oaklawn Pharmacy used to be) I love the calzones and always ask for a side of their yummy sauce for dipping. I've also had good pasta there. Prices are very reasonable.
Best Smoothies - Providence
You'll have to head South for my fave -- Crazy Burger in Narragansett. I haven't actually tried the traditional smoothies there. I'm still busy working my way through all the delicious frozen fruit-lemonade creations.
Fish Tacos in CT
I had some mighty tasty fish tacos at the Jasper White's Summer Shack in Mohegan Sun. I went there with chain-food expectations (had never eaten at a Summer Shack) and was pleasantly surprised!
Shamrock Shake
I, too, fall victim to the siren call of the Shamrock Shake every year. Here in RI, not every McDonalds carries them, though. I think it's the decision of the franchise owner. I found one that seems to have them (Bald Hill Rd, Warwick) year after year so I haven't strayed to search for another.
