I found an old thread from 2007 when I was searching for meal delivery services to provide a meal or meals for the family of a co-worker injured in an auto accident. There were no suggestions then, but this is 2012. All I could find were www.919dine.com/ which coordinates food delivery from Chili’s, Friday’s, Moe’s, Backyard Bistro, Carino’s, various Thai, Sushi and Indian restaurants in the Triangle.

I also found www.waiter.com/ which also coordinates delivery from local restaurants, but not an impressive selection of restaurants.

Then there's www.sendameal.com which ships frozen ready-to-heat meals, but I'm really looking for delivery of a hot, fresh meal from a local restaurant or caterer.

Any thoughts?

We just made this drive, from Mebane/Burlington area of NC south to Atlanta (on Friday) and back today. There must be a way to find the best local food near I-85 for those of us traveling who don't want to stray too far from the highway, but don't want fast food. We finally, out of desperation, ended up at a Cracker Barrel because we couldn't determine where other food options might be located. We will be making that trip again in a few months and I don't want to make the same mistake. Midway (mealtime) for us is anywhere in SC on the way south, and Charlotte north to Lexington on the way north. Please, someone must know of some good places to eat!

We will be at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville in 2 weeks and would love some recommendations for great restaurants which are a short drive from Mayo, especially at/near beach.

We knew someone who visited Atlanta frequently who talked about some "Foodie" type of market they go to. Does this sound familiar to anyone? We're finally visiting Atlanta and would like to go there.

I realize this is an old post, but does anyone know if there is a *decaf* espresso powder? I have a few recipes I'd like to try that call for espresso powder, but caffeine keeps me awake if I have it after noon time.

What about a lunch dinner spot that's not so loud, that is a bit more intimate?

Just read an article in the Chapel Hill News (Herald-Sun) that it is rumored that Trader Joe's is set to take over the Earth Fare location (in Eastgate Shopping Center) after it closes the end of January. This is the greatest possible news, following closely on the heels on the birth last week of our first grandson. Yippee!!!
