Good sushi in Marina/Venice/Santa Monica

TRY SAKURA ON CETINELA IN CULVER CITY!

friday night west hollywood dinner that is fabulous and not terrible on the budget

These are all creative and very friendly, AND not bad at all on the wallet. All are 20 mins tops from eachother
Chinese- GENGHIS COHEN on Fairfax and Melrose
Indian- THE ROYAL ANARKALI on Melrose just east of La Brea
Korean BBQ- MANPUKU on Sawtelle between Olympic and Santa Monica
Sushi- SAKURA in Culver City, or BOSS Sushi on La Cienega
French- CAFE BIZOU, in Sherman Oaks, worth the maybe 25 min drive

I am a huge cheap but tasty restaurant lover!

Where O Where Are Meat Filled Ravioli

Uncle has a birthday coming up, he claims to have eaten a meat (COW please) filled ravioli. Was he mistaken with a dumpling or are they out there in the Hollywood area? Anyone?

Thanks!

Chicken Parm Hoagie

its random but try roni's diner in beverly hills! Messy, big and delicious!

Need help for romance on a budget

CAFE BIZOU IN SHERMAN OAKS! its like walking into a french cottage, so romantic and classic inside inside and so affordable, id say you could walk a way with a $25-30 a person, AND you can bring your own wine! check out the menu online!

Katsu-ya in encino

try the tuna and avocado layered between rice crackers, there's more too it that makes it yummy, but i dont remember for sure : (. In all honesty tho, katsuya wouldnt be my first choise in the valley, but its always good to try it once! try IROHA on Ventura jusu west of Coldwater Canyon, or Asanebo (little pricey but really good) or if ya really want some AMAZING sushi for your money (less expensive than most places) try SAKURA in Culver City, And try the seared ONO--SOO GOOD, melts in your mouth. of topic>

MORE SUSHI!? S-A-K-U-R-A

OH OOPS, I knew that was how to spell it! YES IT IS S-A-K-U-R-A I HEARD WRONG! Apology to everyone! In response to PEI, after 4 rounds of beers and a couple spendy dishes it came to about $130.But we did order a lot!Still not that much considering!

once again SAKURA JAPANESE RESTAURANT, like written in the previous post! Sorry!

MORE SUSHI!? S-A-K-U-R-A

Okay, i dont know why Los Angeleanos love sushi, or why of all places, THE VALLEY is home of "sushi row" who knows, BUT my bf has introduced me to a friendly, unbelievably fresh sushi spot in Culver City named SOKURA. SOKURA, one more time SOKURA. Looks can be deceiving sometimes, but a true restauranteur will tell you that if you see people native to the type of cuisine, you've got a new favorite! For lunch this is place is all Japanese guests chowing on yummy sushi. I cannot stress enough how FRESH it is!
WE HAD:
yellowtail sushi (dissolved beautifully)
seared ONO (my mouth is watering just thinking about it)
baby lobster tail roll in soy paper (mmm lobster)
and much more...
ADD SOME FAVS OF YOUR OWN! LET ME KNOW!

nothing is overpriced, not even the toro, soo not pretentious, just cool guys (sushi chefs) serving great fish!

PS ON THE DOWN LOW, after your second or third time there, after heavy service time, offer the sushi chefs a bottle of Sake or Beer. ;)

Cupcakes?

BIG SUGAR bake shop in studio city...new, different, a real gem!, give it a try! and i second JOAN'S ON 3RD cupcakes! Not to mention you feel like your visiting a small marketplace in France when you walk in.
