I use this over individual ramekins or over deep dish pie plate, It's the best and fastest and never fails. I just use it for the top.
also campbell's has this great soup called cream of mushroom/onion that is great for chicken pot pie. And I HATE mushrooms. But I love this combo for the base.

Food Network

I can't recall ever making anything that either julia child or jacque pepin cooked. But I have been inspired many times with nigella, barefoot contessa, rachel ray, tyler (whatever his last name is, forgot), ciarello, micheal smith

Food Network

I to use my hands for mixing lots of things including salads, but a always put on a poly glove first.

Blender Advice - aka KitchenAid vs. Cuisinart

I bought a KA in probably /91 can't complain. I really like the meat grinder attachment (extra $$$). I grind my own chicken, turkey & beef.

Food Network

touching food with fingers is my personal pet peeve. Specifically the men. Ugh it just drives me insane. TONGS people. The restaurant shows in particular. Why do they play with the food so much. And the rings. I've never seen a chef anywhere that has rings or long nails. I use disposable poly gloves at home all the time. That's one of the reasons that I hate eating out. What kind of a chef are you if you let your nails grow, I mean chopping is impossible unless nails are short. There's a reason that forensics always scrapes the nails of victims. Ugh

Question #1 - What to do with hotdogs other than in a bun?

Whenever my husband was forced to make dinner for the kids it would always be kraft dinner with weiners smothered in Heinz tomato soup. Has to be heinz not cambells. Kids loved it.

Of all the fast-food chains ... who makes the best ice cream shakes?

Shamrock shake, Every march.

Pressure Cooking Tips and Advice?

Don't take the little bobber thing off until its cool off. I usually plunge the pot into sink full of cold water. It's amazing how much stuff can erupt outta that little whole.

Cauliflower recipes - Dazzle me.

We love it raw. Break into florets, put into large covered plastic container. Sprinkle with celery salt, dill, (dried fennel tops are good too)little sugar,a little lea & perrin, grape seed oil, vinegar. Shake to coat, refridgerate for about 1 hour or so. Snack on it all week.

Take Home Chef

I want to see that show.

What's for supper tonight?

Cabbage rolls. I like to make a big batch and freeze in sandwich bags to take to work for lunches.

True Confessions...utensils/cookware you can't get rid of

I've got an old yellow lid that I've been using for 30+ yrs. My mother let me have 1 pot, 1 pan and 1 lid when I moved out at 18 yrs old. I still have the lid. It's dented, rusty, kinda bashed up. When she was here for xmas, and helping me cook she couldn't believe I still had it. It's in real bad shape, It's kind of embarassing when someone else see it.
My tomato corer - can't seem to ever find it when I need it, but shows up when I'm looking for something else.

Best and Worst Cooking Shows

Why is everyone so nasty to rachel ray? I don't think it's her choice that she's over exposed. Food Tv reruns everything to death. I enjoy watching her shows. Would any of you have said "no" to any of the opportunites that have come her way. I doubt it.
One thing that really BUGS me about all food shows in general is "wish you could smell this".

Best and Worst Cooking Shows

Kylie Kwong, great show. AFter watching her show I just always want to jump up and cook something.

Pea Shoots

Bought some pea shoots today. I've never even seen them before. Let alone use the. They sort of look like lawn clippings. Do I use them on a sandwich? In a salad? Anyone have any ideas.

Teflon

Restaurant kitchens still have so much aluminum fry pans. We weren't allowed to use foil wrap without first apply cling wrap. For years in longterm care. Stock pots all changed to stainless steel.

Teflon

What about silicone coated pans. I have alot of utensils too. I've got so much teflon bakeware. Ugh I use it all the time.

Giada’s new show.

Tai show would be nice. I agree need more indian. I'm sick of Italian shows.

Teflon

Why Cora's sucks...?

Teflon

Three politicians recently had their blood tested and all three came back with high count of fire retardents. Freaky!
Abviously exposed through the skin. Couches, carpets, clothes etc.

Best and Worst Cooking Shows

It's funny what we NEED to make the slicing and dicing more entertaining. I love my garbage bowl

Teflon

This morning scrambling my eggs I almost grabbed another pan. All week in the news about toxic fumes etc. when cooking at high temp. Anyone stopped using? I don't know if I could throw them out. Stopped using aluminum years ago.

chef's squirt bottles (with caps!) ?

Try the dollar stores.

Best purchase you made last year - who knew

During our annual xmas gift exchange (where we get to steal grom each other instead of picking from under the tree). The person before me unwrapped a pizza stone. I was humming and hawing, but she was a quest that was new to our xmas grab so I didn't want to steal from her. I got a dart board, although really nice and ornate I'll be regifted that for an upcoming house warming. But ever since I've been looking at pizza stones in the store. Almost bought one. I should just buy it and get it over with.

Best purchase you made last year - who knew

I need one of these. I usually use the timer on the stove, then the micro. And then someone usually puts something into it and screws up my time. What's the brand name?

Best and Worst Cooking Shows

*Easy Entertaining with Michael Chiarello - I love this guy I bet he cries at the movies.
*Tyler's Ultimate
*Can't remember the name, it's the one where this Aussie guy goes home with some woman from the grocery store and cooks dinner. Haven't seem it lately maybe it's not on anymore.
*Family restaurant, don't actually learn any cooking but I love the show.
*Opening Soon same as above
*Food jammers, these guys are just too much
*Chef at large, look forward to new shows
There isn't really anything to hate, it's all entertaining except may Behind the Bash and $30 a day with rachel ray. Don't watch unless absolutely nothering else on and even then I usually have a good book to read instead.

leftovers in your fridge right now - what are you going to do with them.

I've got a sandwich container of leftover rotisserie chicken and some flavored rice. Looking forward to some fried rice for dinner.

I see them at estate sales mostly. But they're hard to find with the lids intact.

Pomegranate Molasses - anyone know what to do with this stuff

I'm determined to find some of this stuff this weekend. I bought a ham. Does anyone know what other use it could possibly have.
