What kind of wine glasses for Italian reds?
Hello, I am just wondering what kind of wine glasses you use for italian reds (barolo, brunello, chianti, etc...) Should I use Burgundy glasses or Bordeaux?
When does smoked salmon/lox go bad?
I have smoked salmon/lox (for the bagel) that says to eat by 11/5. It is now 2 weeks later. Is it safe to eat???

Big foodie new to LA from NYC- Need suggestions!
Hey Guys,
I know you get this all the time, so I appreciate your time. I just moved to Silverlake from Manhattan and I would love some good everyday food/restaurant suggestions nearby. I eat everything...so give me what you've got!
Thank you so much!
P.S. Don't want to spend too much ($25/entree at most)
Late night dining in the East Village
You should try Cafe Orlin on St. Marks between 1st and 2nd aves. I used to live across the street and went there a few times a week.
Restaurants Nr. Hunter College
Hi,
Does anyone know of any good restaurants that are not expensive around Hunter College (68th St & Lex.) I am not picky. I go to Corrado (sp?) a lot, but I would like to get waited on. Thanks so much!
Looking for a nice cafe to people watch
Tarrallucci e Vino on the corner of 10th st and 1st Ave has great coffee, panini, pastries, and great people watching.
Help....looking for Rustic atmosphere with good food
Il Buco on Bond St. Rustic, Italian, so good. Not cheap- but worth it! Great Atmosphere.
Just Moved to TriBeCa...Need Help!!!
Also- believe me, I am not against paying a lot of a good sandwich.
Just Moved to TriBeCa...Need Help!!!
Thanks for all the suggestions guys! You know, I went to Columbine the other day (it is a long wait..), and I have to say that the Med. Tuna sandwich had no flavor- and I love these kind of tuna sandwiches. It tasted like nothing- for $8.50!
Just Moved to TriBeCa...Need Help!!!
Thanks for the suggestions! I know my request is a little bizarre. I've been to Odeon- it is great, a little too expensive for me on a regular basis as is Blaue Gans. I am looking for entrees under $20! I forgot about Columbine- that is good. Plus any delivery suggestions would be fantastic. I eat anything! Cheers
Just Moved to TriBeCa...Need Help!!!
I hope you all will so kindly contribute...
I just moved to Tribeca and cannot afford all of the expensive restaurants here. Does anyone have any suggestions.
In terms of not too expensive restaurants, I've been to:
Walker's,
Bread
ROC
Bubby's
Cercle Rouge
Province
Petit Abeille
I'd prefer even cheaper than some of these.
Thank you!
communal tables?
Supper on 2nd between Aves A & B is great.
I know Frank (1st Ave btwn 5 &6) has a communal table, but they might only use is for larger parties.
Pre-Dinner Drinks w/in the West Village-Chelsea Range
Bar and Books on Hudson and Horatio in the west village is nice sophisticated place. It's cosy and they have a great selection of liquor, wine, beer. You will love it. They also sell many cigars. Perfect for pre-dinner.
Dinner Party-E.Village, W. Village, Soho, Nolita, etc...
Those are two great restaurants, thanks! However, I want to try something new, so I am taking all the suggestions I can get!
Dinner Party-E.Village, W. Village, Soho, Nolita, etc...
So, on the 29th I am having a birthday party at a restaurant for approx. 20 people. I tried Aroma on bond (i think), they don't have wheelchair access, which I need. I also tried Peasant, but they can't do it. Does anyone have any other suggestions? We all love Italian, but not tied down. Nothing too expensive, can spend about $20 for pasta.
I appreciate your help!
Sandwiches in East Village
I go to Tarrallucci e Vino a lot actually. But I am not always in the mood for panini- thanks for your help!
Best noodles in the city (ramen)
Rai Rai Ken is a staple for me! Will not be disappointed. Well priced and nice atmosphere.
Sandwiches in East Village
I always have this dilemma- where can I find a really good sandwich (preferably take-out) in the East Village?? Please help. Thank you
PS I Love Nicky's Vietnamese sandwiches- but I am not always in the mood for them. I am thinking something like the Italian Food Center's sandwiches in little italy. Thanks again!
Tomato Sauce
I am a very good cook, however, every time I cook tomato sauce for pasta it turns out with very little flavor. I have tried many different variations, but still, they turn out subpar. I swear I am not incompetent and am a great cook- something is wrong here. Can someone please give me a fail proof recipe?!?
