Any restos that offer Godeungeo Jorim at Bloor & Christie?

Thank you for the suggestion! I thought that restaurant had closed but will definitely check.

Any restos that offer Godeungeo Jorim at Bloor & Christie?

Had amazing Godeungeo Jorim (mackerel stew with daikon radish) in LA and would love to find a place that offers it here in TO, preferrably along Bloor/Christie if possible but willing to go to Yonge/Finch too. Anyone know of any restaurants that offer this?
thanks!

La Palette - on the downward slope ?

I had the same dismal customer service experience. Completely unwarranted. This place is well past its prime. Based on all your comments, I expect it was Shamez who treated us so poorly. I had every intention of sending the owner a complaint but since it appears he's the one insulting the customers, I can't imagine that would do a lot of good. Hence the posting here to help other foodies avoid a similar disappointment. The food was disappointing so it seems all that is left of the former establishment is the crammed, boho vibe. Go to Batifole for cute, authentic French Bistro.

Review--La Palette

I, too, had heard only good things about this place. Love Kensington,so was eager to finally try it. The co-owner/maitre d' (not sure if he's one and the same) was so rude to me and my family last Saturday evening. The place has a nice, if extremely cramped, vibe but really the food was mediocre. For anyone else reading this: when in need of sustenance in Kensington Market, go to Torito for amazing tapas and good service. If cute, laid back vibe and room to move your elbows are traits that appeal to appreciate a nice dinner, you'd be better off going down the street to The Bellevue Diner. I almost loath telling people about Bellevue for fear of it being overrun. La Palette can keep its horse meat dinner.

La Palette vs Batifole?

Don't bother going to La Palette. Yes, it's cute and boho but the service is DREADFUL. The co-owner/maitre d' (not sure if he's one and the same) was so rude to me and my family last Saturday evening. I know we all have our bad days, but I don't appreciate having my mom's 65th birthday ruined because guy in question is freaked out that it's so busy and he and his staff can't figure out how to get mains to the customers in under 45 minutes. He made this big scene about being rushed and needing our table, then took another 10 minutes to process the bill. Truly unbelievable. Do yourself a favour: spend your hard-earned dollars at Batifole, which is a much better choice. Better food, better service by far! And they are actually French -- ie. authentic.
