Bailey's Crossroads lunch buffet question?

Just before Duangrat's on route 7 in Bailey's crossroads, I noticed a strip mall with three banners advertising lunch buffets. San Miguel restaurant offers a Mexican buffet. The other unknown store offers a Peruvian buffet and MIrage Sweets if offering a Persian/Peruvian buffet. Which of these destinations offers the best lunch buffet experience?

Spicy and plentiful eats near Baltimore Inner Harbor?

I'm staying for a month from mid-October through mid-November at the Residence Inn in Baltimore (corner of Light St & E. Redwood St) . Please recommend some good ethnic restaurants within walking distance. I also have a preference for buffets, but that's not a requirement. I also prefer Indian/Thai/Middle Eastern/East African/Asian... anything spicy.
It would also be cool if somebody could recommend some karaoke bars and beer stores in the area. I may just bring my own beer, since it might be tough walking back to my hotel with a case or two of beer.

ethnic lunch buffet recs for Tysons Corner, VA?

I'm looking for some recommendations for some good ethnic lunch buffets in the Tysons Corner, VA area. I recently tried Bombay Tandoor and it was enjoyable. I used to go to Songbird ten years ago, and I'm curious to know if it is still worth checking out.

Thurmont area family style? Peter Pan?

I haven't been to Mountain Gate in a few years, but they had amazing buffets all day. For lunch, they had about twenty different types of pies available. If you like hearty country cooking, this is a place that you have to check out. It's an amazing sight to have so many quality dishes on a buffet.

Buffets!

Malibu Grill also gets a vote from me for a reasonably priced churrascaria. There are other more expensive churrascarias that probably have a better selection, but Malibu Grill offers something for everyone.

Old Dominion Brewery

I've been drinking from a couple of cases of Millenium bottled in early April, and the taste is outstanding. I think they'll remain strong.

Beer as a mixer?

I like to take Bell's Java Stout and mix it with slow-churned french vanilla ice cream. It would probably be even better with some sort of Starbucks coffee ice cream. Another favorite of mine is grape juice mixed into stout, but I like a lot of the flavored stouts.

Indo-Chinese in Ashburn!

It sounds like it might be a winner. I'll have to check them out. They've got stiff competition in Ashburn. I finally made it out to Aasha's today for the lunch buffet, and it was quite good. Banjara is a proven winner, and their lunch buffet is also impressive. I can't decide which restaurant offers a better overall experience. I would probably have to order off the menu more often to make a well-informed decision. My problem is that I like most everything, but I can tell when a place stinks.

Best beer store near Merriweather Post Pavilion?

I'm glad you mentioned that. I don't make it up to Maryland that often, so I appreciate the tip.

Best beer store near Merriweather Post Pavilion?

I'm going to the big concert Friday night at Merriweather Post Pavilion and I wanted to find out if there was a good beer store near the venue. I am specifically looking for Sam Adams cream stout. The distributor in Virginia doesn't offer it, so I wanted to stop off and pick some up. I could just check a grocery store, but some of you may know where to pick some up.

Where can I get Sam Adams cream stout in the DC area?

Hey, Thanks for the tip. My dad is retired army reserve, so he can hit the class 6 Do you think they would have it at the Fort Belvoir class 6? That's where my parents usually go. I'll ask him to look for it. If he can't find it, I might have to join the reserves to get a steady supply of cream stout.
If it's like Guinness stout, I won't have any complaints. Guinness may not be the best stout, but it is still good. I'm not as high on the canned Guinness, but I had a couple of Guinness drafts last week that were outstanding.

Good Asian Markets in/near Sterling?

I would recommend Grandmart across from Koons Sterling Ford. This article in the Washington Post provides a good summary about them: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/03/10/AR2006031002471.html

Best Indian restaurant in Ashburn, VA?

I've been a regular patron of Banjara in Ashburn Village for a long time, and I will definitely continue to go there. Mirchi has been open over by the ice rink for a while, and I've never tried it. Also, another new Indian restaurant called Aasha's has opened in Parkhurst Plaza. I will probably have to try them all, but I wanted to hear which restaurant is the best of the bunch. They each may have their own strengths, but I was interested in seeing some opinions on the three restaurants.

Bottled Guinness

Thanks for the info. I'm disappointed to learn that Budweiser is also a top seller in Ireland. I thought they would have better taste in beer than most Americans. Bud is a cheap way to get wasted, but I no longer drink to get drunk.

Eithiopian in Fairfax County?

I would recommend Warka Ethiopian Restaurant in Herndon. In fact, I'm going there tonight. My favorite dish is the sampler platter. Check out the website at http://www.warkaethiopianrestaurant.com/ . You could do a search on ethiopian and you'll find other recs. I've put in a plug for this place before, since it's quite good.

ISO 24-hr or late night Korean BBQ in NoVA

I don't know their operating hours, but I would recommend Il Mee Buffet in Chantilly at the corner of 50 and centreville road. They have another location in Annandale, but I haven't been there. The price at the Chantilly location is definitely $12 for lunch and around $18 for dinner. I ate lunch there on Saturday, and I can still taste the outstanding pumpkin soup.

Where can I get Sam Adams cream stout in the DC area?

I've heard good things about Sam Adams cream stout, so I decided to look for it this week. I tried four places in the Sterling/Ashburn, Virginia area. Do any DC natives know where I can get some in the DC / Northern Virginia area? Also, is it that good? I wasn't impressed with the Lancaster and Mackeson's milk/cream stouts, but I thought this might be a better alternative. I heard that The Old Brogue in Great Falls has Bell's double cream stout on tap, so I might have to check that out.

Saravana Palace, Fairfax

I went for the lunch buffet a couple of weeks ago, and it was great. When I looked around the packed restaurant, I noticed over 90% of the patrons looked South Asian. That's a good sign! My vegetarian friend was really excited, since there were so many choices. All of the food was authentic, and there were plenty of choices on the buffet. I thought it was neat that they had a list of the most popular entrees on the wall, since that would help unsure diners. I plan to return in the future.

Imperial Stout Tasting Results

Old Rasputin is a quality imperial stout. The sales rep at the beer store urged me to try it after I picked up a couple cases of Bell's expedition and java stout. I haven't tried the other three beers, but I might look for them. The two imperial stouts that I like are Brooklyn Brewery black chocolate stout and the Bell's expedition stout. I actually preferred those two over the Old Rasputin, but all three of them are great. I believe Old Rasputin is brewed year-round, while my two favorites are seasonal beers. I may have to look for the Old Rasputin this summer.

What are your 3 favorite beers from Britain?

Young's double chocolate stout
Samuel Smith oatmeal stout
Samuel Smith nut brown ale

Bottled Guinness

I've seen a few posts on beer boards claiming that the locals in Ireland prefer Murphy's over Guinness. I prefer Murphy's over Guinness, since I think it is smoother. I found Guinness to have more of an aftertaste, but that's just my opinion. They're both good beers. I prefer Young's double chocolate stout over both of them

Rockville Brazilian BBQ

First off, I would never listen to any suggestions from Eliot in the Morning. I can't believe he isn't off the air. I haven't been to Green Field in a couple of years, but it was the area's best churascarria for a while. I never had a bad experience there, and the salad bar offered a lot of good options. I would recommend not eating too much of the black beans (feijoada), since those will fill you up too quickly. I made that mistake at Malibu Grill last month. I remember eating chicken or rabbit hearts at Green Field, and those were nondescript. I'd eat one heart for the experience. I'd be interested to hear from others how Green Field compares to the other churascarrias in the DC area.

Indian vegetarian buffet in Fairfax or NOVA??????

Hello, My friend's new year's resolution was to become a vegetarian, so I was wondering if there is a good Indian vegetarian buffet in Fairfax or Nova. I read about Saravana Palace in Fairfax, and I was wondering what people thought of it. Does it offer more vegetarian choices than Minerva and is the quality comparable? There might be some other options, so I wanted to hear some suggestions. We went to Banjara in Ashburn yesterday for the outstanding lunch buffet, but she didn't think they had enough vegetarian items.

Ethiopian take Out??

Hello, I would strongly recommend Warka in Herndon. Check out their website at www.warkaethiopianrestaurant.com . When I have visited them, they have always had a lot of people picking up takeout orders. My favorite dish is the Warka combination platter. My only minor complaint is that they don't have foul on the menu.
