Cannot miss in Ft.Lauderdale?
Coming in with the family from San Francisco for an overnight stay at the Hilton Marina before we head off to a cruise.
I do not have a car but would not mind taking a cab to enjoy some unique dining experiences, does not have to be fancy, could be street food. We are adventurous eaters who prefer to eat where the locals dine.
Thank you for your recommendations in advance.

thank you KK, I live in the City and I just need a little change in the dim sum "line-up" and does not hurt to get a little sunshine as well. Based on your experiences, would 11am on a weekday be considered early?

Lahore: not on the menu must try?
Has anybody had items that are not listed on the menu?
Great America Outing today
We decided on Chinjin last night and we had a great time. We ordered the boiled dumplings, hamburger (essentially the same filling as the boiled dumplings but pan fried), sesame bread (great to eat my kids used the bread to soak up the hamburger juices, lamb pot ( very large clay pot filled with cellophane noodles, lamb, chinese cabbage, and tofu) If you enjoy lamb with it's natural gaminess, the broth is excellent. Apparently this can be ordered with sour cabbage, we opted for the regular because were not accustomed to sour cabbage (saurkraut). The cold sesame noodles, the kids did not enjoy the tahini taste but my wife and I enjoed the taste and texture of the cucumber, bean sprouts and the noodles ( never had these noodles before and thoroughly enjoyed them). Lastly, the beef tendon noodles (50/50 tendon and meat). This dish was a disappointment because we are accustomed to having the beef and tendons tender and this was not, the broth was excellent and the noodles were the same as the cold noodles (waiter did ask if wanted thin or thick). Overall a good experience, if we go again we would not order the sesame bread (too big and filling), or the beef noodle soup and if the kids are present the cold noodles. The bill came with 10% off.
Thanks you hounds for the recs.

Lahore: not on the menu must try?

Roasted Goose near San Miguel brewery?
I am going to Hong Kong at the end of the month and need help recollecting a roast goose restaurant that was adjacent to the San Miguel Brewery? This was about 20 years ago and maybe the place does not exist. I was a about 18 at the time and a relative drove us and the goose place seemed to be pretty isolated, but I can attest eating that goose was truly a memorable experience. The restaurant's interior was nothing to rave about and it was truly all about the goose.
My son and I are heading over in a couple of weeks and would like for him to experience eating roast goose and maybe somebody can tell if this place still exist, if s,o the address or other's can chime in on the fav. goose places.
Thank you

Best countertop surfaces
Stainless hands down if you do not mind a somewhat industrial look (I chose white cabinets and bamboo flooring (the natural color not the burnt look) to soften the look): Extremely affordable, integrated sink with drainboard, impervious to heat, acids etc. Number of edging options (bullnose ect.) Someone commented that stainless is ridiculous because of the water marks and denting: who cares if you have water marks, this is a kitchen made to be used. Denting only occurs if you the stainless is not properly installed onto the 7/8 marine grade plywood backer board.
Saveur 100 likes the mooncakes at.......
I would give Mee Mee Bakery on Stockton between Broadway and Vallejo as my choice for mooncakes. There skin is very thin and they have a lot of different choices for fillings!
