Frankfurt and Rhine Valley Help!!
We fly in to Frankfurt and have about 4 days to drive around and ideally head toward Belgium in search of quaint villages, castles, monastaries, etc with BEER and good Wine. Any restaurant rec's and general travel tips would be SO helpful. We've never been to this area and just so far have a car and then a plane ticket to Berlin a few days later (found great stuff on here already re: berlin).
Any tip would be greatly appreciated. THANKS

DC ladies weekend from NYC
Hi everyone - I used to live in DC and moved to NYC several years ago, so have lost touch with DC pulse. I have business in DC next week and am making a weekend of it in DC bringing a few friends from NYC (who are from cali) who have NEVER been to the nation's capital. I have heard good things about Granville Moore - when I used live in DC I really enjoyed that little bar/restaurant on 14th street in logan circle that had the airplane theme? cannot think of it...but am not sure how to get best of DC without just showing these ladies Ben's Chili Bowl and the big hunt...We aren't looking for anything very fancy. I love the idea of a fabulous ethiopian since DC does it so well...and we have such limited time (I'm putting them on a duck tour to see some sites. But would love dinner/lunch ideas. Brunch I already have Tabard Inn on my list. Ideally for dinner, restaurants near bars etc. Thanks so MUCH!
Solo eating/drinking Portland
Hi all - I am very excited to making my first visit to Portland in mid-october. I have a work conference and am traveling alone, so wondered if there were any great restaurants/bars that are especially friendly to solo diners/drinkers. Great places to eat at the bar etc but also want a sampling of best portland has to offer. Any thoughts would be appreciated! Also, any favorite wine stores to check out and send some great stuff home.

My friends and I are having a hankering for a great mexican brunch. Looking for some suggestions below 14th street. I've heard of and am wondering about Lupe's, Barrio Chino...but would love suggestions. I know Tree offers Huevos Rancheros. Thoughts, insights? much obliged.

Hi, taking my visiting parents to see a show at the Belasco. They prefer to have a lite(r) bite after the show. We don't mind walking a little (better if back toward downtown). Any fun suggestions (except sushi)? Thanks in advance.
Cheese Classes/tastings: Murrays vs. Artisanal
Hi - I am trying to give a cheese/wine class as a birthday gift. Have you decided on yours yet and did you go? I get the feeling the vibe at Murray's is more of what I want (low key, informative, fun)...thoughts? And is there wine at Murray's, ie, cheese basic 101 class or only specific classes. Anyone chime in...much appreciated.

So I am trying to plan a birthday for my friend who is kosher, loves opera and celebrates all cultures. We are going to the opera on Thursday, but then wanted to go somewhere we can also celebrate chinese new year...anyone know of any kosher chinese places that are not painfully far from the Met?
Dinner and Dancing birthday party
Wondering if anyone has ideas for a fun place to eat (30-40 people) and then stick around for fun dancing. Something along lines of Good World where food is good and DJs fun...any alternatives to check out?
Thanks.
