Anyone else a Fortnum and Mason Junkie?
Does anyone know of a really good substitute for the Fortmason tea that's no longer being sold in the US? As in: "Scented with orange, this blend of Indian and China teas is also perfumed with the delicate aroma of orange blossom to produce a subtle, flowery flavour." I have a wife that's going through major withdrawal.
Area Butcher Revisited
I'm planning to make ribs of beef for some friends next weekend, and this has put me in mind of my dissatisfaction with meat purveyors in the DC area. Whole Foods is hit-or-miss and so incredibly expensive. I know about Wagshall's Market, but is there any other (perhaps not so well known) place in DC or environs where they really know their meat, have a good selection and charge fair prices for meat that is not completely shot up with hormones?
Thanks.
Road Trip DC-Santa Fe (passing through Little Rock)
OK, so I'm doing the Xmas road trip from DC to Little Rock, Ark., and from there on to Santa Fe, N.M. -- then doing the same thing backwards 2 weeks later. Having lived in LR, I know I'm going to pay a visit to Sim's, the best bbq in the world. And Santa Fe is known territory. But since we're taking it easy, we'll be stopping one night in east Tennessee and one night somewhere between LR and SF -- I was thinking Amarillo for this one.
But I'm open to suggestions for don't miss eating opportunities, and I'd definitely choose a stay-over location on the basis of the dinner/breakfast eats available.
Thanks!

First Date: Baltimore Restaurant
I know this has been asked before, but I'm going to add specifics to my request, since I'm not finding what I'm looking for.
Looking for a nice, relaxed, comfortable, not glitzy place for a first date in Baltimore. Should have really good food, be somewhat unusual, perhaps a little European ("trattoria" comes to mind), not insanely expensive. Shouldn't pack you in like sardines or rush you out the door. Decent wine list. Not a hotel, chain, trendy place. A place with a little soul. Not stuffed with tourists. French, Italian, general continental, American cuisine -- or something else just so long it fits my other crieria. Not a place where people go to see and be seen. A place that's quiet enough to be able have a good conversation. Could be a neighborhood joint. Something off the beaten path.
Any place like this exist?
Thanks.
