Restaurant recommendations with counter-height tables

Thank you everyone! I can always count on the chowhound community.

seems that tapas places love counter height seating. I'll likely go that route then. i'd go with Otto but it's probably too limited of a menu.

Thanks again!

Restaurant recommendations with counter-height tables

Can anyone recommend some good restaurants (high teens/low twenties for entrees) with bar/counter-height tables? Someone in our party can't sit for long periods (back pain). Since it's for four people, it's harder to just eat at the bar and have a group conversation.

Pressure cooker or slow cooker?

Thanks everyone - the pressure cooker it is. though something tells me that my big oval creuset dutch oven will get used less often.

Pressure cooker or slow cooker?

I have limited kitchen space and was thinking of getting a pressure cooker or a slow cooker. I'm new to both items so I'm curious - What gets used more in your home?

Tabla or Tamarind?

Haven't been to either in a while... thought it would be a nice change for family dinner out on Mother's Day. What are your views?

Allen & Delancey

Anyone been to Allen & Delancey lately? Was thinking about it for Mother's day - would hate to disappoint mom...

Hudson Place 36th and 3rd..anyone been?

I've haven't eaten here in a while but it's a fairly reliable neighborhood restaurant. Not amazing but good, dependable American fare at reasonable prices and a pleasant environment.

Best Saag Paneer?

Thanks everyone, for expanding my dining options and views on saag paneer!

Best Saag Paneer?

Simon, you expressed exactly what was on my mind re good saag paneer. Any specifics on which places around 1st and avenue A? I'll definitely give Earthen Oven a try when I'm next in that neighborhood.

Best Saag Paneer?

where do they make the freshest, homemade cheese saag paneer? thanks!

Birthday in Philly - Southwark or Matyson or Little Fish

that's so rude! We're six with baby and they took a reservation for 630pm on a saturday.
Thanks for the Distrito suggestion. Though the birthday boy doesn't really like mexican. unless my memory is wrong...

Birthday in Philly - Southwark or Matyson or Little Fish

Thanks for your replies. Though you should know that I've spoken to some of them already and they said they'd be happy to accommodate a stroller. Regardless, can I have some suggestions? We still want it to be special given that it's a birthday.

Birthday in Philly - Southwark or Matyson or Little Fish

Five friends and I will be celebrating a friend's birthday and looking to pick a restaurant that's worthy and yet won't mind a stroller. The baby is pretty good for the most part but figure super fine dining is out of the question. We were thinking either Southwark, Matyson or Little Fish? Where should we go? feel free to make other suggestions as well. Since we'll be coming from Chestnut Hill, we don't mind other Philly area locations.

Bouillabaisse - starter and side dishes

thanks for your ideas! I went with lots of toasted baguette slices and rouille/aioli. there was fennell, onion and tomatoes in the recipe - i guess i always want something green but it was fine without.

Bouillabaisse - starter and side dishes

I'm hosting a dinner party and need some ideas for what starter/first courses and side dishes for a bouillabaisse main course. I plan to end it with some profiteroles and chocolate sauce. I'm thinking either some kind of salad with maybe some goat cheese or maybe an onion tartlette and for a side, some roasted string beans or asparagus. Bouillabaisse is usually served with potatoes so I've got the starch covered.

Devi?

I went to Devi on a sunday night with four of my friends. The discount is still in place. I would say overall the food was ok and the service poor. I found the flavors very extreme and unbalanced. The food was fresh tasting though. The servers are terrible, particularly the runners. They forgot to fill the water glass for one of my friends, couldn't remember who ordered what dishes, placed forks on right/knives on left, and didn't understand english very well so instead of getting the waiter, simply said things like steak knives and sugar were not available. At the end, they brought two desserts and it took another 7 minutes to bring the other one. I may give them another chance as perhaps they haven't worked the kinks out yet.
