Breakfast in SoHo

Obviously too late for the OP, but I will second Jack's Wife Freda. Had a late breakfast there a few months ago and it was not crowded at all--a huge plus in my book, especially in that area--but not because the food wasn't excellent. Very good service and a really charming spot. Had the chicken kebab, which was perfectly juicy and nicely smokey. It came with a brilliantly dressed, bright fresh chopped tomato and cuke salad.

Anyone been to Mille Feuille Bakery-Cafe in the village?

Would like to echo the plus reviews for the croissants at MF: best I know of right now in the city, bar none. I work in Soho sometimes and I make the extra trip past Balthezar and Payard. The Pain au chocolat is great, but the plain croissant is amazing: it has the perfect explosively flaky texture with a deep, rich baked-butter flavor permeating the tender layers inside. Yes yes!

Königsberger Klopse?

Does anyone have any idea if there is anywhere in Manhattan or Brooklyn that serves Königsberger Klopse? I had these meatballs for the first time in Berlin about 4 or 5 years ago and I have been seriously craving them ever since. Just had (excellent) Schnitzel at Edi and the Wolf and it reawoke my need for germanic comfort food. Also, it will be fall sometime...

Good delivery options in Greenwich Village?

Recently started working in SOHO and am having the same kind of problem with delivery. But of all the above I can't help but comment that Souen, a macrobiotic place, is punishingly bad. It definitely has its adherents, but not amongst people who live to eat...

Need Recommendation for a Ramen place in NYC for dinner with a 12 year old...

LOL Yes, and I was talking about myself--significantly older than both 4 and 12 year olds. I hate long waits when I am hungry.

German/Euro style doner kebabs in NYC?

I'd like to bump this thread as well, though it didn't seem to do much the last time... Somehow there was nothing better than döner kebab at the end of a drunken night in Berlin. Not that that ever happens to me here...

Need Recommendation for a Ramen place in NYC for dinner with a 12 year old...

Rai rai ken has a very traditional ramen shop feel, but it is not my favorite ramen. I haven't been there in probably 3-4 years, however.

Hide-Chan is excellent. Tonkotsu broth is more of a southern Japanese phenom but probably my favorite kind for ramen and Hide-Chan's is very good. I also think their noodles are consistently exactly the right consistency--I've found a number of NY ramen places tend a shade over al dente (though I don't let my noodles sit in the bowl once they're in front of me.)

Ippudo is very good, but the nightmare crowds factor is always a turnoff for me and if the boy is anything like I used to be (or am) waiting in line when hungry equals meltdowns and ruined meals no matter how good they might be.

Date - Chelsea Piers Vicinity: Drinks+Snack

Izakaya Ten, on 10th ave next to Tia Pol btw 22nd and 23rd is a nice, low-key place. It's relatively casual and there are great Japanese snacks (from edamame up). The last time I went they had sake flights (of 3) which were great and reasonably priced.

Where are the best croissants outside of France

I would definitely second the chocolate almond croissant at Bergamote--sort of a flattened tenderness encased in a sugary choco-almond crust.
For a more traditional croissant of remarkable delicacy in Williamsburg I would recommend la Gribouille, though I haven't been there in several months.
