One dinner in Kansas City?
When I go to KC I have to do BBQ. It is why God created KC. There are plenty of famous/touristy places to go that are great but if its true local flavoure with the best Q in the world here are my suggestions. With out question the best Q in KC is at LC's Bar-B-Q 5800 Blue Parkway KC not to far from the stadium. Its a majore dive hole in the wall with awards from Gourmet Mag, Food and Wine hanging on the wall and well deserved. Warning you will feel like your car will be missing when you leave but the food is worth it. If your looking for more than BBQ try BB'S Lawnside BBQ 1205 E 85th St. its great bbq and great music in a very rustic locals setting. If its a weekend go early it fills up with locals.
Murphysboro,Ill. bbq & Ribs(17th Street Grill)
As a memeber of the KCBS and lover of all things Q I had to try the 17th Street Bar and Grill. It may have been the time of day 4:45 pm but the Q was reheated and not what I would call world famous. Also Murphysboro is a long way out of the way from most of the world. That being said it was still light years ahead of any Q you will find in a resturaunt setting in MN.

BBQ in Kansas City
We are coming to KC on the 19th for the annual KCBS banquet. One of the things we like to do is find great BBQ for a night out. I welcome suggestions.
Brined uncooked pork chops - can I freeze them?
As a long time brine-aholic it is my experience that the soak time is relevant to the brine recipe. Brine that works on 2 days may not give you the displacement you need while another recipe higher in salt content would. I would have no concerns about freezing them just remember that brining never has been remedies for food safety concerns only flavors so just be certain you cook them properly. I would however agree that you risk a mealy pork chop and it would be best to limit the time in the freezer.
Cooking Light City Rankings
I do subscribe Indy and I can tell you its cooking light if you Google it comes up but you wont learn much just be pimped to subscribe. While the 20 best cities piece was cool I would not rush a check in just to see it. In my opinion Cooking Light is the most frustrating mag and I intend to let my subscription laps. They have good writers but it’s about 80% advertising and any good writing they produce is so lost in the ads they are hard to follow
