organic fruits and veggies in Broward County

Hi, I am looking for reasonably priced organic fruits and veggies in Broward County, any advice? I can even go to a farm and pick it around there if that helps. I am okay with buying conventional fruits and veggies that are not in the dirty dozen. If not in the dirty dozen, where would i find reasonably priced?

walmart - didnt see any
supertarget - i think there was brocolli, cauiliflower and something else
costco - spinach that was it
whole foods - $$, but not alot of variety

Cooking Classes

Hi, Are there any cooking classes that specialize in different cuisines? I have found through word of mouth when I lived in other cities those that are not as expensive and not listed in yelp, etc.. Just wanted to know of if there was smaller cooking classes and not the ones that are advertised alot and that are expensive?

For example..at macys in california, they had cooking classes with a donation of a canned item, at a nursery, they had free cooking classes in fermentation, raw foods, citrus, italian, etc, and at a lebanese church they had 30 dollar cooking classes.

Thanks so much!

Fruit and Vegetables in Miami

Hi, Just moved to Miami around Brickell. Looking for a place to buy fruits and vegetables that are fresh and not to expensive. We are open to buying clubs, coops, fruit and vegetable stands, etcc

We checked out Publix and it was super expensive, very limited and sad looking :(

What about grocery stores for other things or just go to Costco?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you!!

Hillcrest Farmers Market

Last sunday, I went to the Hillcrest Farmers Market and did some tasting. So, one of the vegetable/fruit vendors had samples of strawberries with some kind of chili seasoning, samples of cucumbers, tomatoes, and fava beans that all had some kind of seasoning on it. It was really good. Can someone tell me how to make it? Is it just some chili powder, or does it have some vinegar in it? Thanks!!

san diego area agritourism

Hi all, I am very interested in supporting the local farmers during this tough economy. I would like to visit farms, dairies, etc... that are a bit more on the unusual side. For example, some places I would like to visit are goat dairies, mushroom farms, cheese making places, etc...Does anyone have any ideas? This can be in the san diego vicinity area, but if it is really unusual, it can be anywhere in california. Thank you!!!

culinary / agritourism tour ideas - CO, NM, AZ

Hi all,

Am traveling to CO, NM, and AZ and am looking for interesting culinary / agritourism ideas. I love stopping at farms, factories, the more unusual the better.

Some ideas that I have are:

Boulder - Celestial Seasonings Tea Tour
Colorado Springs - Coffee Roasters Tour

Any other not to miss tours?

For example, in CA, I stopped at a EMU farm - which has EMU eggs, etc..then went to a goat diary farm for cheese and milking, and then also stopped at a miniature horse farm.

Thanks!!
