Last sunday, I went to the Hillcrest Farmers Market and did some tasting. So, one of the vegetable/fruit vendors had samples of strawberries with some kind of chili seasoning, samples of cucumbers, tomatoes, and fava beans that all had some kind of seasoning on it. It was really good. Can someone tell me how to make it? Is it just some chili powder, or does it have some vinegar in it? Thanks!!

Hi all, I am very interested in supporting the local farmers during this tough economy. I would like to visit farms, dairies, etc... that are a bit more on the unusual side. For example, some places I would like to visit are goat dairies, mushroom farms, cheese making places, etc...Does anyone have any ideas? This can be in the san diego vicinity area, but if it is really unusual, it can be anywhere in california. Thank you!!!

Some ideas that I have are:

Boulder - Celestial Seasonings Tea Tour
Colorado Springs - Coffee Roasters Tour

Any other not to miss tours?

For example, in CA, I stopped at a EMU farm - which has EMU eggs, etc..then went to a goat diary farm for cheese and milking, and then also stopped at a miniature horse farm.

Whats open Easter?

Am arriving at the san francisco airport on easter. Was going to hit up Chef Chu's for chinese chicken salad, and la taquiera for burritos. Found out Chef Chu's is open, but la taquiera is closed on easter. There goes lunch :( Is there any chowish places open on easter? silicon valley and san francisco area. thanks so much!
