Stones Public House in Ashland?
New to the area and came across this place online. Just looking for a good pub with decent food, beer and atmosphere.
Any thoughts from fellow hounds?
Night Out for Parents- South Worcester County
Alicante ad Pinelli's would be my choices for southern worc. county
Worcester suggestion for dinner: 4 couples?
I second invino's suggestion. i went one friday night and it was an hour and fifteen minute wait. We waited for maybe five minutes and scooped a table in the bar. Don't bother with outback or chucks, they don't come close to 111. Get there early and scope out the bar and scoop a table. At least this will give your party some time to tie one on. Get the filet trio its do die for.
Acapulcos in Sudbury, MA
The food is great and they're very friendly. i'm weirded out by a restaurant with no windows also but i eat here regularly. no worries. just plan on smelling like fajitas when you leave.
dinner near 90/84 Interchange
Admiral T.J. O'Brians its just off the pike on rte. 20 eastbound right at the interchange. Very good pub food
Comfort food in Portland - ideas?
Another vote for Caiola's. I had the meatloaf and mashed taters. some of the best i've had.
New Mexican Restaurant in Worcester?
Mezcal, I've heard the guacamole is very good but I've read reviews that were good and bad. haven't tried yet but did have a drink or two. give it a shot i'd love to hear some more feedaback.
Two Weeks in Worcester - Cheap Eats and Must Eats?
IMO, I think Via is good but not great. for what they they charge and the service is a joke. I ran into a bartender at funky murphys who used to work at Via and even he said he thought the food wasn't that great. as compared to the sole and the 111 chop house. I'd rather go to the boynton on highland for pizza than Via. again, just my opinion.
Diners on the way to DCU
Kenmore Diner for sure. I've eaten at most of the diners in worcester and you can't go wrong with the kenmore. and it's only a short drive to the dcu center. great coffee too!
Shrewsbury Street Worcester
111 chop house, Mezcal (not great but good), Via (good), Jr's (good pizza), Funky Murphy's (good prices for pub grub)
RiRa in Portland
I've eaten at RiRa's several times and I'd say its pretty good pub food. The shepards pie was some of the best I've had.
Need fun "destination" place, 50 miles from Boston
Yeah it's a heck of a lot better than the Picadilly pub. I had the meatloaf lunch special there not too long ago and it was some of the best I've had. Weird I know because most peopl wouldn't order meatloaf at a restaurant. It was huge and it only cost $6.95. They also have great live music I'm just not sure what nights they have it?
Where to buy Anchor Bar Buffalo Wing Sauce?
No, the owner whos is refered to as "the wing king" makes his own sauces. Just caught a throwdown with Bobby Flay the other night. And I've eaten there in person and have seen his sauces.
Need fun "destination" place, 50 miles from Boston
Gee, that sounds like a good reason for a road trip. I've got two choices depending on how far you want to drive. For sushi I'd try Baba in Worcester. http://www.babasushi.com/
For good pub grub I would make the trek out to Sturbridge to Admiral TJ O'Briens. It's at 401 main st. which is basically Rte.20 East. Its only a mile or so off the Pike.
Best Vietnamese in Worcester Area?
Recently had Vietnamese for the first time at the place on Park. Can't recall the name of the top of my head but its down near the Rte.12 end of Park. Pho Dat?? I've read other recent posts regarding Vietnamese recs. but just wanted other hounds opinions? Any feedback on the place on Greene St.? I'm a rookie so any/all feedback would be appreciated.
Bocado or Via in Worcester?
To be honest I'm not really comparing the two. Thats like apples and oranges. I just wasn't that impressed with Via at all. Despite having only eaten there once. Bocado was very nice I'm just trying to keep my options open I guess. I had considered the vietnamese place on greene st. but the "Dining area" looks a little boring and plain. This would be a second dinner date. Not looking for anything too fancy but nothing too cheap either. I've eaten at most places in the area. I'm just trying to think outside the box I guess.
Bocado or Via in Worcester?
Forget Via, I've read too many negative reviews and have never tried Castellanas. Any of you other hounds have any feedback?
Bocado or Via in Worcester?
I've only had apps. at Via and wasn't that impressed. Bocado I've eaten at twice and thought the tapas was very good with many selections. Not sure how they compare with not much info to go on regarding Via. Lets take a vote on it shall we?
Thanks Everyone
The Met Bar and Grill tonight-what to order?
Kobe burgers are fantastic, haven't tried much else though.

New Years Dinner Rec's in Portland?
Thanks Bunnyfood!
Anybody have feedback on David's??
New Years Dinner Rec's in Portland?
Just dined at Caiola's for the first time this past Saturday and was blown away. I'm leaning towards going back for New Years but I don't want to limit myself. That being said, italian food would have to be left off the list of potential choices. I would also rule out the usual suspects on Fore St, 555, Cinque Terre etc. Any suggestions beyond that for a great dining experience? Any decent restaurants for a good steak or should I stick with Caiola's again. I'd like to keep the entree prices somewhere in the $15-$25 range but its not a major concern.
Thanks Fellow Hounds!
Dinner in Portland ME
Caiola's would be my choice. I've eaten at the usual hot spots on Portland but his was truly an experience. We ate there last night for dinner and I'd say its in my top 5 "best of". We started with the beet salad with goat cheese and the crabcakes. Both were to die for and cooked perfectly. For dinner I had meatloaf and she had the paella. We also ordered an Australian pinot noir which was excellent. It was about $125 with tip. Server was as good as the food. I'd give Caiola's high marks all around. Make a reservation as it is a very small restaurant.
Caiola's in Portland ME?
Heading to the Morrill Mansion BB this weekned with my sweetheart. I've read lots of great things about Caiola's not to mention what the owner of the MM had to say. It looks very cozy and we like a very homey feel in a restaurant. Can somebody give me an idea of what i should expect to see on the menu? My sidekick has a gluten allergy and I am hoping that she will be able to find something to please her. Also, what price range should I expect on the menu?
Thanks in advance!
Thai food in or around Worcester???
Looking for something decent. Haven't had Thai in this area in about 10 years. All my hot spots are closer to Boston but thats not in the cards for this evening. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! :-)
Moody St. (area) suggestions???
I'm not looking for anything too expensive. No Border because we eat there a lot. I was thinking of eating at the other Mexican place up the street though? No Bison County or Watch city either. Any suggestionson on or around Moody would be greatly appreciated! We both love Thai food so if anyone knows of a good Thai place that would be awesome.
Thanks!
