Yes, many times...it's enjoyable and the Dim Sum are especially good. I would suggest it.

Friday Work Drinks in Soho

Hi 'Hounders,

I've been asked to come up with a place for drinks near Prince St/Broadway for this Friday night (9pm). It will be a work drink, so it should have ambiance but nothing to crowded our loud.

Any suggestions come to mind in the area?

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Thank you

BEST Pesto Pasta in Los Angeles

"Hounders,

I am looking to take my significant other for a wonderful italian dinner in the Los Angeles area. We have tried Madeo and La Dolce Vita amongst other Italian spots which are considered to be top notch. However, none seem to do a classic pesto - basil, parmesian, pine nuts, olive oil and parsley...Can anyone suggest another restaurant to try?

Money is no object, and location can be from the west side to the valley and/or hollywood/silver lake. I.E. will travel for food! :)

Thank you,

Armani Restaurant - 5th Ave

Has anyone tried the Italian restaurant in the 5th Avenue store yet? I have heard good things. Would love to know why my trusty 'hounders think.

Happy new year to all!

Restaurant Reccomendations near The Blue Note (3rd St. Between 6th & MacDougal)

Would love to try Blue Hill. My only fear is the menu being too fussy/complicated/unpredictable for the two other people in my group. Is that a correct assumption?

Sushi for dinner, UES or UWS, not too pricey

Sushi on a budget is a tough one in Manhattan. Having said that I would suggest POKE on 85th between 1st and 2nd. (It's also BYOB - plenty of liquor stores nearby)

*Sushi of Gari is $$$*

Best Dining options near Campbell Apt (walking distance or short cab ride)

Thank you all for the recommendations. So many great options, and still undecided. LFDS is the front runner from the below. (We were at the Convivio location two years ago, and DB Bistro will be slightly too earthy/fussy for my significant other, tho I would love to go).

Also, I'm going to open it up to other neighborhoods for dinner and just cab it to Campbell after. Apizz and SD26 have been added to the list along with Bobby Van's and Spark's (haven't been in ages) for steak. Yes, I know - all over the place in terms of local, cuisine and vibe. Being that half of us lives out of town now, it makes it a lot more difficult to pick one. But I must reign it in!! :) Any thoughts or opinions on the new additions are welcome.

Thank you xo

Wolfgang's or striphouse

Between Wolfgang's and Strip House. DEFINITELY Wolfgang's! IMHO Strip house is overrated. Enjoy! P.S. and go to the one in Tribeca.

Father's - 70th (more like 60th) Birthday Dinner

Hi 'Hounders,

Hoping you can help. I'm looking for a restaurant (french, italian or american) for my Father's 70th birthday for about 25 people.

We're open to all NYC neighborhoods and price range (except for the Le Cirque level...).

Ideally looking for good food, ambiance and even music and dancing if possible.

I know this one's a tall order but am hoping you might have some suggestions for me.

Many thanks in advance.

Ben & Jack's Vs. Wolfgang's

Which would you say comes closer to Peter Lugers' perfection?

I've been to Wolfgang's many times and find it to be a fine substitution short of Lugers. However, I've never tried Ben & Js and was thinking about doing so. Unless, of course, I shouldn't. Please tell me what you think.
