water process decaf espresso

I used to make a passable cup of espresso in my Breville espresso machine with Lavazza espresso (the already ground one in the red vacuum sealed foil brick--loved it). I switched to decaf and I prefer to drink water process decaf to avoid the chemicals. I tried doing an espresso grind on the water process decaf in my local supermarket and it did not work in the espresso machine.

Does anyone know of a source for delicious water process decaf espresso?

Thanks!

ISO Your Most Tried-and-True Healthy Vegetarian Weeknight Staples

our weeknight dinner routine includes all the same constraints as yours PLUS quick and easy and minimal cleanup. Here are our favorites:

tacos--black beans + warm soft corn tortillas + any toppings, eg lettuce, avocado, plain yogurt, cilantro, pickled jalapenos, hot sauce, salsa. Even better, fish tacos (I do it on the grill pan)

eggs in purgatory--heat up tomato sauce in shallow pan (leftover from weekend, frozen homemade, jarred or whip up a quick one) with some crushed red pepper, break in a few eggs, cover, serve over garlic-rubbed toast or polenta, sprinkle of parm

broccoli sandwich--sounds weird but sooooo good. Steam just until tender broccoli in large-ish pieces, meanwhile toast whole wheat bread, smear with a little mayo, mustard, ketchup or all of the above, add broccoli and, ideally, a slice of cheese and/or a little sauerkraut

chopped salad--anything goes... base of lettuce, cabbage, beets, eggs, artichoke hearts, leftover roasted or steamed veggies, any bean, tuna, leftover quinoa or rice, chopped up veggie burgers (heat up in micro or grill pan or skillet), avocado, celery, fresh dates, figs, apples, raisins, any nut. Simple dressing of olive oil, lemon juice or vinegar and lots of dijon, YUM.

lentil sloppy joes--BBQ lentils on a bun, serve with steamed veggie

grilled cheese and tomato soup (homemade from freezer or good old Campbells) + steamed veggie

hot dogs (veggie) + baked beans + steamed veggie

SH--thanks! this looks like it fits the bill perfectly. The prices look great and we can mix it up from time to time with subs and poutine and salads. Nice! Can't wait to try it. Thanks!

desperately searching for cheap delivery to Plateau

We like to order in once a week or so, nothing special, pizza would be ideal but anything in that kind of price range would be fine. We used to live in the delivery range of Bardeco, which is not great pizza by any stretch but it did the job just fine. We've just moved to the Plateau and ordered Amelio's last night and it was just awful. The style of pizza was not the problem, it was that the flavors were off.

Where do you order from when you want delivery in the Plateau? Help!

can I use Mexican queso fresco in place of paneer?

thanks! can you tell me more about queso blanco? Is this a fresh cheese also? The store I mentioned has 3 or 4 fresh cheeses in its case, so I'm wondering if that is one of them. I'll ask next time I'm there. Thanks!!!

can I use Mexican queso fresco in place of paneer?

The Mexican grocery store down the street from me sells great fresh cheese. It reminds me a lot of paneer. We make curries that I would love to add paneer to, but I don't have a good source for paneer and only rarely do I want to take the time to make it fresh.

So, how would queso fresco do in place of paneer? Would it stay solid (not melt) like authentic paneer?

Thanks!

Mtl Vegetarian and/or Organic Restaurants

I was very disappointed the last time I tried Spirite Lounge...the food was bland and mushy and their schtick about not finishing what's on your plate is pretty preachy and obnoxious, if you ask me.

Quebec City restaurant recommendation please

I second Le Marie Clarisse. It is a cozy little restaurant, not full of tourists, and both times I've eaten there, we had wonderful service and excellent seafood. Very memorable experience.

Montreal restaurant recs for 50-person wedding?

I am getting married in Montreal this fall and am looking for a place to have a wedding for about 50 guests. We lived in Montreal several years ago so we're familiar with the city but have lost track of the restaurant scene.

In terms of location, we are thinking along the lines of the Plateau or Little Italy although we're open to anywhere. The type of cuisine is also unimportant, but we're going to have a couple of vegetarians in the group so places that are meat-centric or, for example, very traditional French are probably out. We're looking for something unpretentious but pretty and, most importantly, a place with EXCELLENT food and some nice wines. Nothing too formal or fancy or over-thought. We're willing to spend $$ for a great place, but we don't want it to be outrageous either.

Thanks for any and all suggestions!!!
