Tu y Yo in Needham?

I've been to the Somerville location and found it ok, but went to the Needham spot for lunch and thought it a ripoff. Ordered queso with chorizo which came with mini tortillas. Instead of chunks of chorizo, it was more like a garnish--just a few crumbled bits, which made it a way overpriced grilled cheese. Server was sympathetic but didn't contact the mgr. when I indicated the portion was skimpy.

Good, inexpensive food in JP/Roxbury/Roslindale?

Alchemist, James Gate and Galway House are all good, and even Costello's, though a little gamier.

Metro west Mexican

Avoid Tu Y Yo in Needham. I've been to the Somerville branch and it was fine. Went to Needham for lunch and what a ripoff. Ordered melted cheese with chorizo and instead of chunks of sausage, there were a few crumbs, almost like a garnish. Too expensive for a grilled cheese. Server was sympathetic but made no effort to alert manager about my dissatisfaction.
Acapulcos is ok but bland. You want good Mexican, go to TX, Calif. or even Chicago.

Best Steakhouse in Boston-60th birthday

Can't speak to Moo KO Prime, but of the others, Abe & Louis and Grill 23 are the best. Oak Room is charming but can be stuffy.

BAGELS

Needham's Cafe Bagek & Bagel's Best and Rosenfelds.

Pre-theater Watertown meals

Grappa on Elm St. or Strip-Ts.

Any good restaurants near Fenway Park? And any Five Guys Burgers around Boston?

India Quality, Eastern Standard, Audubon Circle, Canestaros

Holy Moley! Decent meals at Matakeese Wharf

We had a nice lobster dinner last Friday. Service was attentive, appetizers of littlenecks, lobster gazpacho and caesar salad were good too, as was the breadbasket. No complaints.

Need a good place in Waltham

bison country is good, and john brewer isn't bad. pricey but worth it are solea and il capriccio. not impressed with marcellino's food or tuscany's attitude

The Local West Newton - Advice?

too pricey for what it is and not overly friendly for a neighborhood place. drinks are ok and potato chips and dip quite good.

Arlington - What's Always Good?

Ristorante Olivio and Jimmy's Steer House are both dependable, as is Punjab.

Sky Restaurant in Sudbury - Pretty good stuff...

In my experience @ Sky, the "over"/'under" was overpriced and underwhelmed. it's noisy too.

Sat. nite in way-Metro West

Am I better off @ Stone's Public House in Ashland or Ted's Montana Grill in Westborough?

Cheese Shops, Formaggio Kitchen, Others?

Wasik in Wellesley

Are There Any Brewpubs with Good Food?

john harvard's in framingham is decent.

Maynard

my only experience @ christopher's was positive and i was sorry it declined so quickly. ate at cast iron kitchen last week and was very impressed by the quality of the food, service, and reasonable markup on the wine.

Anything Interesting Near Ikea (Stoughton?)

Service is inattentive at best at Rick's. Town Spa (cash only) has ok pizza and is somewhat reasonably priced, but burned thin crust pizza overrated. There is a Not Your Average Joe's in Randolph that is pretty good and less formal/expensive than Cafe Bella.

Business lunch near Brighton?

Stockyard is fine. So too is Carlo's Cucina.

Cheap eats near Fenway before the game?

Cheap is relative given the price-gouging that goes on within the confines of Fenway. India Quality is good, but Audubon Circle is reasonable for the caliber of the food. UBurger is more hype than anything else, food at Cornwalls is ok but not spectacular. Boston Beer Works food is fine, but place is super-crowded before the game. Haven't tried Chicken Bone on Boylston St., tho' Canestaro's Italian restaurant on either Jersey or Peterborough is good.

Anything Interesting Near Ikea (Stoughton?)

Right by Ikea are just so-so chains (Olive Garden & Smoky Bones). Cobbs Corner has Chinatown, and on Rt. 138 are La Storia (decent Italian, slowish service) and X & O (ok Greek).

Let's Talk About Woburn

Masa on Cambridge Rd. in a strip mall is a nice addition. Yummy lunch with good service and a free birthday dessert based on conversation our server overheard us having. Nice margarita too.

ted's montana grill - moved from New England board

ted's montana grill in westborough: decent-looking menu. is the food any good?

Best casual French in Boston?

Brasserie Jo, Gaslight, Petit Robert Bistro (Needham) in that order. BJ, particularly, is where I've always had good meals, professional service and reasonable prices.

Distilled water?

I've found it at Shaw's, Roche Bros. & Stop & Shop--Poland Spring is the brand.

lunch off Rt. 95 South from T. F. Green Airport to Fairfield, CT

Thanks for the help. Looks like a toss-up between Walt's Roast Beef and the Food Chalet.

Gaslight Fuels Fiery South End Dining Scene

Enjoyed a very nice meal @ Gaslight recently. Tender steak frites, rich pate. Reasonable prices. Service was competent, but could use a little more polish. Hostesses greeted us promptly, but then left us standing unattended for awhile, though we had a reservation and the table was ready.

lunch off Rt. 95 South from T. F. Green Airport to Fairfield, CT

Looking for a lunch spot off Route 95 Souith in R.I. Picking up son from T.F. Green Airport and heading toward Fairfield, CT. Thanks
