Where, Oh Where can some Mexican food be?

I've been to both and neither one rings my bell. Both are very generic americanized versions of Mexican cuisine.

Does anyone know of some real Mex here in Manhattan or Queens or Brooklyn. I still miss La Cieba (Tacos Al Pastor were unreal!) in the East Village and haven't found anything that come close to being authentic Mex anywhere. I'd appreciate some tips. Thanks!

Oops! I was wondering why there were no replies to my last post and just found out that there is no text in it. Hmmm. Anyway, I am visiting Montreal with my girlfriend ths upcoming week and we would love some recommendations on places to eat out as well as any info on jazz clubs. We are looking for at least one really nice night out, maybe French cuisine as well as some low key but good food places.

The two of us are visiting Montreal the week after New Year's and are hoping or a few good suggestions on places to dine out. Looking for at least one upscale evening out (Toque' seems to be closed for the week we're there, sigh...) as well as some more low key local places. We'd also appreciate a recommendation for a really good French restaurant. And if anyone can clue us into some good jazz places, that would be great too.
