It used to be Le Reve in San Antonio, but they have since closed. My new personal favorite is Tony's in Houston.

TN: 2000 Opus One
Opus One has a tendancy to go through a "dumb" stage. However, once it comes out of this stage, the wine shines.

Bill, I have dined at Cyrus and yes, it is one of the best restaurants ever.
In case you haven't heard, Le Reve closed this week. Andrew and Maureen are opening a more casual concept in the Pearl Brewery.
Also, the Dining Room at the Ritz Carlton in Atlanta closed for good this week.
This economy is annoying me!

I have a new one for you that you should not miss. Artisan in Banner Elk NC. Oh my, you would love this place. The food, the wine, it truly was magnificent. One of the best meals I have had.

I am staying at the Windsor Court and have dined there a lot. You are right, excellent choice. I decided on Stella. I recently had the pleasure of hosting Scott Boswell at our winery so I think we will go there.

I need a romantic restaurant to celebrate my husband's birthday next Saturday night. We are staying in the Quarter, but I am not opposed to going outside. I have dined at the usual suspects, including Stella, Brennan's, Palace Cafe, August and Muriel's. I am curious to hear what you suggest though.

I live in Colleyville and drive to the Mellow Mushroom as often as I can for their pizza. Best in Ft. Worth, but that is just my opinion.

The Columbia Crest Merlot and the Robert Mondavi Napa Cab are both a safe bet. The pinot noir and the shiraz not so much.

I would disagree with the your statement about ruined winemakers. There are an awful lot of GREAT winemakers that have come through Robert Mondavi and I would never say that Genevieve Janssens, the current winemaker is ruined.
Also, I think it is more difficult to put out a million cases of a consistent product year after year, than make a 500 case wine year after year ie Woodbridge, KJ, etc.

This has been the case for a lot of wineries. Look at Beringer. They have the same problem.

The Four Seasons or the Ritz Carlton would be fantastic. When I got engaged, my mother in law took me to lunch at Neiman Marcus at Lenox. Very hoity toity! Lot of fun and food was good!

Call the Black Forest Bakery in Dallas and ask them. You could also try German Deli.com in Colleyville.
Hunt - Can you give me a Rec?
What about an Italian Chardonnay? Frescobaldi and Antinori both make one in that price range that are excellent! Also Attems Pinot Grigio is in the WS Top 100 and always a solid wine.
