Taste of Randolph Street worth it?

Coming to Chicago June 15-19, I notice that the Taste of Randolph Street is going on. Wondering if it is worth going? I was planning on trying to get a reservation for Aviary or Publican for Sat or Sun night, so looks like it is the same area. Thanks

One day in LA. Need rec by LAX or Santa Monica

Have 1 day in LA. Staying at lax before flight out next am and need lunch and dinner recs for family of four. I have two toddlers. I will be in Santa Monica and Hollywood area and would appreciate places to eat. I was thinking Japanese curry or Katsu for one meal and Mexican for the other. Open to all ideas for other kid friendly places. Budget is prob under 20 a meal. Thx

Gyros in the South End

I think Corner cafe owned by same guys as Andre's Cafe on Harrison Ave across from BMC. They have good chicken pita wraps especially the Chicken Ranch Club, their gyros is blah. Good burger and chicken wings though.

Gyros in the South End

I personally think Billy's is the best. I have also tried South end Pita and they have shwarma. too lemony for me, but I remember it was only 5 bucks. I like the Greek kind better with tzaziki.

Also tried NY Pizza, typical prefrozen loaf. I wish there was place like Zo's near South End or Theater District

Place to eat lunch from LAX to Rancho Cucamonga

Landing in LAX 10:30 am from Boston. Will likely need lunch on our way from LAX to Rancho Cucamonga. Travelling with 2 toddlers but they are pretty good and not picky eaters. Any recommendations for restaurants on the way for lunch. Looking for valet or safe parking area as we will have all our luggage in plain view in the rental mini van. Thanks

Happy hour Gaslamp District that allow kids for 1/2 price apps or early bird specials

Staying in Gaslamp District. I saw numerous happy hour specials. Wondering if there are any in restaurant side that allow kids. Looking to take advantage of 1/2 price menu as we probably will be eating 5-5:30. I saw Yardhouse has a good happy hour. Mccormick and Schicks also.

Thanks

Need Kid Friendly Restaurant from LAX to Ontario Airport area for Lunch

Going to be arriving into LAX around 11am. Boston chowhound, going to be renting a car, and will have wife, grandparents and 4 year old twins with me. I figure we be out of the car rental around noon and driving to Rancho Cucamonga (near ONT airport) to stay with family x 1 night.

WIll likely need lunch, want to take the family to sit down restaurant to enjoy lunch but get out of LA area before rush hour starts which I heard is around 3'ish.

I was thinking of Santa Monica and stroll around for a hour or two and have lunch, or is it worth it to go to Phillipes in the city? I also remember Japanese Curry House in Little Toyko was also very good (can't remember the name?). Open to all ideas as long as not too far off the beaten path.

Any suggestions or ideas would be welcome. I am renting a van and all of our luggage will be in the van, so this is also a consideration.

Thanks

North Wilmington Take Out Restaurant Recommendations?

Just moved to North Wilmington and need restaurant recommendations. I am just past a industrial park off I-93, exit 41. I think it is Ballardvale/Wilmington Junction district?

Seems to be nothing around except a sandwich shop which is only open during business hours. . I am on Andover border, but I think Tewksbury and Wilmington would be closer as I think nothing in Andover unless you go downtown.

Any help for local area pizza, thai, chinese or any other food anyone would recommend? We enjoy all types of food! Thanks

Need recommendations for Anniversary Dinner and Breakfast/Lunch for Portsmouth, NH

Hi, going to Portsmouth, NH for Friday night/Sat am. Staying at the Sheraton and was wondering if anyone had any dinner recommendations for Friday night and breakfast/lunch for Sat mid-morning. We are not picky and don't need fine dining. Just want some good food.

Thanks

Downhill - Woburn China Pearl

Their Dim Sum is not bad. Not comparable to hei la moon but pretty good and good selection if you want to avoid crowds and no to minimal wait.

Best Roasted Meats Rice Plate in Chinatown

Went to Chinatown Cafe to get the 3 meat combo. I agree with previous poster that their crispy roast pork is the best. Best crispy pork skin of everyone I try. Downside is that their roast port (cha siu) isn't that good. Roast duck ok, but I do get the meaty part every time compared to the others where it is a crapshoot if I get bones or lots of meats

Also, Does anyone know if you get more meat if you only order 2 bbq meats vs 3?

Looking for an authentic Chinese restaurant with some atmosphere

The food to be honest isnt that great, but Jin in Saugus is a place that may impress them in terms of atmosphere. They are probably used to Chinatown dives! They do have a hot pot buffet that is pretty authentic,(never had fyi, only dim sum there, but I heard not bad). If you want Szechuan, try Sichuan Garden in Woburn, it is in a former house

Recommendations for Father's Day Brunch in Sandwich, Cape Cod

I have stayed in midtown in past and always had good luck with hell kitchen area (delta grill, nicks greek) if places like those still around but i know a little further up from residence inn.

Thanks JMJD for suggestions on bryant park. that might work for lunch!

Chinese BBQ sausage in Boston?

i got the chinese name of bbq sausage. it is sew cheng if anyone can find it or try to look for it! good luck

Hash browns for breakfast/brunch in Boston?

I have had them at Smith and Wollenskys and they are good. They are cubed. I also heard Capital Grille made them shredded style.

Chinese BBQ sausage in Boston?

I think you are all talking about something different. I don't know the chinese term for the BBQ sausage but in Canada where I am from, there is a Chinese Sausage that is marinated in same sauce as BBQ Ribs and Pork. I haven't yet seen them in Boston BBQ places. Too bad, it is very good. It is a very soft sausage, not like an italian sausage or polish kielbalsa.

Good (and bad) Restaurant Week experiences

Any recommendations for steak in boston. I have someone in party who is a steak and potato person only. sad, i know. i am thinking ruth chris's. been to smith and wollensky in past, very good.

Wakefield/ Melrose/ Saugus

Reading isn't too far away and can recommend a few places

Bangkok Spice for Thai, better than Duck Walk and cheaper. No atmosphere like Duck Walk but for takeout great!

Christopher's for breakfast.

Green Tomato for good comfort food takeout. Fresh Turkey dinners, meatloaf, roast pork, etc. Menu changes daily.

Also don't forgot about Harrow's Chicken Pies

All restaurants in Reading center

China Pearl also was good for takeout and cheap but haven't been there since new management. Mandarin Reading is consistently good but expensive in my opinion.

Any other sushi buffets except Minado

I have my family coming to town who love Sushi. They are more into value and different selection than paying an arm and a leg for sushi. I have taken them to Minado last time and they loved it. I know quality isn't always the best but for them it works. Any other place with sushi buffets? I heard KIng BBQ but haven't heard anyone comment on quality. Thanks

Any place to buy Green Tea Ice Cream To Take Home?

Haagen Daas used to make a Limited Edition Green Tea Ice Cream that was amazing, but no longer available. I can't find it at any of the Chinese supermarkets (Super 88, C-mart). Anyone know a brand or where I can buy in Boston or North of Boston. Closest I can find is soy green tea ice cream from whole foods and mochi green tea ice cream from Trader Joes. Thanks

READING MARKET BASKET

No offence to previous poster, but I can't see S&S moving out when they just built that huge store less than a year ago. If it was an old store, I could see it but it is a Super Stop and Shop. I did however wish Whole Foods would take it over!

They were going to move into that new Reading development off of 95 until the project got nixed

King BBQ Korean BBQ and Sushi Buffet Stoughton Opening Soon?

Driving by Cobbs Corner in Stoughton, saw sign for King BBQ Korean BBQ and Sushi Buffet opening soon. Odd place for this, but hope to try when it opens. I hope they have a Korean buffet!

Good Ice Cream Cake?

Daily Scoop in Stoneham. 19.99 for 2 layer ice cream by Richardsons. Includes fudge on top and oreos in middle. I think it was 6" cake and fed 8 of us. Fyi, I have tried meletharbs in Wakefield, Cold Stone and think Daily Scoop the best flavor and best value. Meletharbs was good but very rich and heavy. Cold stone different with cake and ice cream so so and much more expensive.
