My mother inlaws stewed goat with spinach, green onions and dill in egg and lemon sauce. But to be honest, my taste buds are fickle and this could change by the end of the week.
My current drink of choice:
I am a low brow wine drinker, I like moderately priced but palatable wine. Currently I have been enjoying Paranga by Kyr. Gianni, a really good Greek wine. Also, recently I went to Zagori, a mountainous region of Greece. They make their own Tsipouro, and after dinner they serve a walnut flavored tsipouro that is sublime. I have dinner parties just so I can justify drinking this stuff, as it is so good it should be shared.
I really wish I could:
Fly like a bird
My "Go-to" dinner party dish:
a bottle of wine and a small vase of exotic flowers
My favorite comfort food:
Egg on Shredded Wheat: bake a nabisco shredded wheat biscuit in the oven with a bit of butter, salt and pepper, poach an egg, ladle small amount of poaching liquid onto the shredded wheat, then top with soft poached egg. I grew up on this dish.
My most tattered cookbooks:
Diana Kochila's "The Glorious Foods of Greece". The historical and regional-cultural writings alone make great bedtime reading.
