Profile
Best meal I ever ate:
Too many to count. One of the absolute best was at the Sea Grill in Brussels. That and dinner at Lucas Carton in Paris in its previous incarnation.
My current drink of choice:
Red meritage of various origins. Mostly Bordeaux styles. That and still Johnnie Walker Black.
I really wish I could:
Make a living as a food and restaurant critic.
My "Go-to" dinner party dish:
Depends on the occasion. Lots of risottos, pastas and braises. Grilled fish with a salsa is also a good one.
My favorite comfort food:
A great steak. Allen Brothers preferably, black and blue; baked potato crisp skin and wedge salad with blue cheese and bacon.
My top 5 favorite restaurants:
Tough. Too many in too many places. Norman's in Miami, Marks Las Olas, Sea Grill Brussels, Four Seasons NY, Lupa NY.
My most tattered cookbooks:
New Professional Chef; Emeril's New New NO, Lidia's books, Rick Bayless Mexican, Julia's The Way to Cook
