Wine shops in the Guadalajara area

My dad lives in the Lake Chapala area and is having trouble finding a wine shop with a wide selection. He's willing to drive into Guadalajara. Any suggestions?

ISO smoked pepper for steak

I make my own smoked pepper, and smoked salt for that matter. It'll save you a bundle. I have a small stovetop smoker, but you can improvise with a cheap tinfoil roasting pan. Soak some wood chips in water (I like mesquite and hickory for smoking pepper) and lay them on the bottom of the pan. Pour whole black peppercorns in a single layer in a second, smaller pan. Place second pan inside first, directly on top of the chips. Cover tightly with two layers of foil. Place pan on gas or electric stove burner and turn to low heat. Or, you could put the pan on your grill on low. Since the chips have been soaked in water, they will not ignite, but they will put out copious amounts of smoke. Turn your exhaust fan up high. For pepper, you don't have to do anything, but wait (about 30 minutes). For salt, I find you get a more uniform product if you stir the salt every ten minutes for 30 minutes.

where to eat and shop in New Orleans

I am going to New Orleans next week with some foodie friends (I am a professional chef) and am hoping to get some reccomendations on where to eat and shop. We are staying on Esplanade Avenue near the 10. We will have a kitchen, so I am particularly interested in food shops. Thanks for your help.
