Chinese Food - Pinellas County

I am a new snowbird in Dunedin who lived in New York, Philadelphia, Boston, and DC, all of which had Chinatowns and am desperate for Chinese food. Based on my search so far in this area, people don't seem to say anything good about Chinese food in this county. Are there any hidden gems that are out there? How about Vietnamese food? Thanks for your help.

ERIE, PA

I am going to be staying in Erie next week on business for 2 nights (Comfort Inn Presque Isle). The boards are all talking about pepperoni balls, wings, etc. - it sounds like great local comfort food but its not what I am looking for. How about some suggestions for fine dining or even casual dining (but no chains)? Thanks

Tarpon Springs Greek?

So I went to Tarpon Springs for the first time and saw "a million" Greek restaurants - too many to choose from. I need advice - which ones are worth going to; which ones should I avoid? Thanks.

Tampa magazine?

Living in both New York and Philadelphia, I subscribe to local magazines ("New York" - weekly, "Hudson Valley" - monthly, "Philadelphia" - monthly). I will be living part of the year in the metro-Tampla area (New Port Richey) and want to subscribe to a local magazine. When I went online, I noticed two different magazines for Tampa - "Tampa Bay Magazine" and Tampa Bay Metro Magazine". I have no idea which one to get but I am most interested in the one that has the best dining/food sections, especially if there are yearly "Best of..." issues (Restaurants, Cheap Eats, Bars, etc.). Any advice would be most appreciated.

Pitty Pat's Porch

I'm going to be staying at the Omni for a conference (not a college student!) and would like to try a Pitty Pat's Porch-like restaurant (Southern). Since I won't have a car, what can you recommend in the area (I can walk up to a half hour each way). Thanks.

In Rochester for conference

I'll be in Rochester for a conference staying at the Radisson on East Main Street. I am looking for restaurants suggestions either within walking distance or driving distance but with a private parking lot (I don't want to look for on-street parking). I'm coming from Philadelphia which has a fantastic cosmopolitan restaurant scene, so I am not looking for typical ethnic restaurants. I would like restaurants which feature local ingredients and/or foods indigenous to Western New York. Prices and atmosphere don't matter: anywhere from a "jeans place" to expensive - as long as the food is "Chowhound quality". Thanks.

Merida

I just received a request from friends who are in Merida for a few weeks. Even though they know that I have never been to Merida, they know that I am always touting Chowhound as my source for restaurant suggestions. Can you recommend any places that I can pass on to them? I am assuming that they do not want particularly expensive restaurants since they are on a budget. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks.

Milwaukee- 1st time

I am going to be in Milwaukee in July for a conference and will be staying near the convention center. Typically, restaurants near convention centers are very "touristy" but I will not have time to start taking taxis to the surrounding areas. Can you give me some great restaurants and brewpubs within walking distance from the convention center area? I can walk up to 30 minutes. I will go to very expensive restaurants or "dives" as long is the food is Chowhound quality.

Thanks.

Trenton- pizza confusion!

I am going to be in Trenton for the weekend and was told that I must go to DeLorenzo's Tomato Pies. However, I am confused due to the several locations. The original one on Hudson has another location in Robbinsville, yet I saw another article about DeLorenzo's on Hamilton Street. What to do?

Also, while I'm in Trenton - other suggestions fro good places to eat? Thanks.

San Diego Gaslamp

Okay - so I understand from reading all of the San Diego posts that the gaslamp district is just for tourists, overpriced food, blah, blah, blah. But, I still need to eat there because I have limited time for eating and need to walk everywhere from my hotel (I can walk 20-30 minutes each way). I am staying at the Marriott Marquis on West Harbor Drive. I would love Mexican/Latin, Seafood (with West Coast selections), and creative new American. Living in a great restaurant city (Philadelphia), I don't need to go to restaurants whose cuisine I can easily get back home (Italian, Thai, Indian, etc.). Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks.

National Harbor

I will be at the Gaylord Resort in National Harbor at the beginning of July (on business). I see from the directory that there are many restaurants in the area; I assume all within walking distance. I need help navigating which restaurants are worth going to and which should be avoided. Thanks.

I will be in Saratoga next week for one breakfast, one lunch, and three dinners. I know many of the "famous" restaurants, but not any of the newer ones. Suggestions for new (not too expensive) places. Any good Mexican restaurants? Thanks.

Long Branch, NJ

I will be in Long Branch (Ocean Palace Resort) for three nights. I've already been to the Zagat sight and Open Table, but I'm not really getting accurate information. What are the good local restaurants? I'm open to all cuisines, but do love seafood. Also, are the resort's restaurants any good? I am looking for fine dining as well as "holes-in-the-wall" as along as the food is top notch. Thanks.

Pittsburgh - Downtown

I have to be in Pittsburgh on Thursday, March 10th and am staying at the Courtyard on Penn Avenue. Can you suggest any restaurants within walking distance that are moderately priced. Or, I would be willing to drive a short distance as long as there is reasonable parking (preferably a private parking lot). Any cuisine is fine - love it all!. Thanks.

I will be in Wilkes-Barre on business for one evening and am looking for a place to eat. I am open to any cuisine and price point, but would prefer not having to wear a jacket and tie. Any good Japanese, seafood, or Indian places? Any great local places or foods that "tourists" wouldn't know about? Thanks.

Coraopolis, PA

I am going to be staying at a hotel in Coraopolis on a Tuesday evening. I had planned on going to LoBello's, but they seem to be closed on Tuesdays. Can you please give me suggestions for other restaurants, not too far away, that have easy parking. I will be arriving at the airport by 4:00 PM, should check into my hotel by 5:00 PM, which means that I will be smack into rush hour. I would like to avoid any long drive. I will be exhausted after several days of flying. Any cuisine is good. Thanks.

Romantic Italian Fine Dining besides Vetri and Osteria

Two others that are definitely "fine dining Italian" are Panorama and La Famiglia. Both will be under $200 and both have outstanding wine lists. They have beautiful dining rooms with excellent service and are fairly quiet and romantic.
