Returning to N.O.
I've been to New Orleans a couple of times before Katrina and have done most of the famous places. I am now returning for a conference in November and am looking for some places that are not famous, but that you locals really enjoy. Living in Philadelphia (a great restaurant city), I can get virtually any food I want, except the fantastic cuisine of New Orleans. Therefore, I still want to eat creole/cajun/southern food when I am in town. I am staying in the Convention Center area and will not have a car. So, I would like the suggestions to be within a 20-30 minute walk (and hopefully, in a safe area). I am looking for anyplace that you love - from holes-in-the-wall (jeans) to fine dining (suit & tie). Thanks, chowhound-compadres.

Philadelphia Holiday party suggestions
I am planning (already) my company's holiday party and am tired of going to the suburbs outside of Philadelphia. I know that Center City is out, but are there some good restaurants in any Philadelphia neighborhood that has free, off-street parking? I can use as many suggestions as possible and I need places that will accommodate a few vegetarians. Thanks.

Monroeville, PA
I am going to be staying in Monroeville for business and need advice on local restaurants in the moderate range. Zagat doesn't rate anything in Monroeville and it is difficult getting any accurate information from the net. So, naturally, I turn to you. Thanks

Budd Lake - Randolph, NJ
Help!!! I am going to be in the Budd Lake - Randolph, NJ area on business and am desperate for advice on where to eat. After a long day, I don't really want to travel too far - no more than a half hour from this location. Fine dining is okay; so is a dive, as long as the food is good. Thanks

Wilmington DE -small business dinner
I am hosting a small business dinner in Wilmington, DE for about 5-6 people. Are there any moderately priced restaurants that have a small private room, since we will be talking business? I would prefer the entrees to be in the $20 (or under) range, plus easy parking. Any cuisine would be fine. Thanks.

Lancaster, PA help
I will be in Lancaster for an overnight and need some advice. I, like most tourists, want to eat some Penn-Dutch food, but I do not want a "tourist trap" nor a place that only has family-style dining (I prefer a la carte). I need a place for one breakfast, one lunch and one dinner. Any other recommendations for my trip would be most appreciated. Thanks.

Meme
I've heard some very good things about Meme and am interested in going there. However, when I went on the website, there were no prices listed. Can someone give me an idea of the appetizer and entree prices? Also, what are some of the recommended choices? Thanks.

Kansas City, MO near Country Club Plaza
As a Philadelphian coming to Kansas City for the first time (family wedding) , I need some advice. I will not ask for the best BBQ restaurants, etc., but am asking for the best places near the hotel I am staying in. We will be at the Kansas City Courtyard Country Club Plaza. Since this is a new city for me, I don't know which "best" restaurants are even near me. Yes, I am looking for a BBQ place as well as a southern/soul food place. In addition, are there any other food items that are indigenous to KC or that cannot be found many other places (e.g. Goo Goo Clusters in the South, fried pickles in Jackson, Mississippi, New England clam chowder in the Boston area or, most famously, cheesesteaks in Philly)? How about any ethnic food that is well-represented in KC? Philadelphia has one of the great restaurant scenes which includes a great breadth of ethnic foods, but we don't have Burmese or Swiss restaurants, for example. Any particular foodstuffs (e.g. candy bars, snack cakes, salty snacks, hot sauces) found in a supermarket that I cannot get on the East coast? When going to a restaurant, I would like everything within a 20-30 minute trip from my hotel and would like to avoid a hassle with on-street parking (as an out-of-towner). I know that I can only get information like this from my fellow Chowhounds, so thanks in advance. When you are ready to visit Philadelphia, just write and I'll share my favorites.

Passover shopping in Philly area
Having recently moved to Philadelphia, this will be my first Passover here. Where is the best store to find Passover goods? I was in Wegman's in Cherry Hill today and was very disappointed with the limited selection. Thanks.

Jaffa Cakes in Philly
Does anyone know where to purchase Jaffa Cakes locally? McVitie's is the most popular producer, but there other brands also. In case someone doesn't know what Jaffa Cakes are - they are small disc-shaped "biscuits" (cookies in the US) that have a sponge layer, an orange jelly layer, and a dark chocolate layer. They are so common in the UK, but I have not seen them here. Thanks.

Philly-area waterfront restaurants
I would like to host an afternoon (business) cocktail party in June for around 20 people. I think it would be great if I could find a place that overlooks some "water" (river, pond, canal, etc.), however, every place that I see in Philadelphia City charges a steep parking fee which I do not want guests to have to pay (I cannot do it for them). I am willing to go anywhere in Metro-Philly (within a half hour), but being new to the area, do not know which towns have waterfront establishments. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Olney, MD - New Year's Eve
We are visiting friends in Silver Spring, MD who made New Year's Eve reservations at the Inn at Brookeville Farms. It doesn't seem to be Zagat-rated and I am unable to find much information on the place. Am I going to be in for a treat or I am just spending a lot of money for nothing? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Yes, it looked delicious. But I had to go with the large ravioli of the day - lobster, ricotta, and mushroom-filled in a lobster reduction sauce - absolutely delicious!

Concordville, PA (near Philly)
I am going to be in Concordville for a meeting and need some suggestions for dinner. I want to stay within a 15-20 drive from there, which would preclude me from going into Philadelphia (especially at rush hour). Do you have a few suggestions for a nice dinner, not too expensive? I am open to any cuisine. Thanks.
