Private dining for 45 people
Chops at 7th and Walnut has a large space for private dining.
Chops Center City
Ventured in Chops on Washington Square. Excellent food, beautiful setting. Should be a winner in town. My table of 10 was very pleased with food and service
best byob in philly?
Tried La Baia on a walk around the neighborhood. Outstanding. Very accomplished food without the big ticket price tag.
private room for 20 - downtown phila / main line
Recently went to a private dinner for 20 at Fork. They did a very nice job.
Jimmy's BBQ in Malvern/Frazer?
Visited Jimmy's BBQ tonight. It's the real deal. Very good barbecue all the way around. Slow cooked without the short cuts. Had the pulled chicken and a rack of ribs for the family. Big ups for Jimmy's
Have time to kill between wedding & reception...where to go for drinks?
Amada would be a pleasant place to hang out. Full bar, bar snacks, killer sangria
Ooka - Montgomeryville
Tried Ooka earlier this week. Excellent sushi. Comparable with Bluefin in a more serene setting. A bit pricey but certainly backed up with excellent fresh fish
Casual in Conshohocken? (Or nearby)
Gypsy or Stella Blue across the bridge may fit the bill
Bambino's- So. Philly
It's a pretty straightforward menu. Had an awesome special. Spinach fettuccini with squid ink and chunks of salmon and asparagus. Others enjoyed a very nice manocatti and a blue tag stuffed filet with pasta. Seems like it holds its own in the neighborhood.
Bambino's- So. Philly
Tried Bambino's at 9th and Catherine in So. Philly for dinner. Very, very good food in an authentic atmosphere. Definitely a spot for a return visit.
Any thoughts on La Locanda in Edgemont?
It's still very good. Family friendly and always consistent
The Saloon in Philly?
The Saloon is a Philly classic. Can be up and down, but always seems to be worth visiting again
Bagels - I am trying to locate the best bagels by region. Where can you get good bagels?
New York Bagels on City Ave @ Haverford Ave.
Best Lox on the Main Line??
Hymie's and Murray's are the two Main LIne Deli staples both in Merion. Another interesting option is the kosher deli counter at the Genuardi's in Wynnewood. They have some very fresh fish and homemade whitefish salad. The bagels are so so.
Large wedding party for Brunch/Lunch Barnes Museum tour?
I would try Chops which is a steakhouse about 10 minutes from the Barnes.
Evviva is also a fine choice in Narberth but its a catering operation not a restaurant.
Other options are in Manayunk but there isn't a large restaurant there that would take 100 without closing. I would look at Jakes
Need Help Deciding
Blue Fin is excellent. I've seen large parties there, but call ahead it gets very crowded
Chinese food quest in the suburbs
Tried Wild Rice in K of P tonight. Excellent Chinese and Japanese.
A very delightful find!
Any new suburban restaurants? fine dining, italian, etc...
Blackfish in Conshy is all the rage
Philadelphia Dinner for 25/Walk to Ritz Carlton
All the steak houses on Broad St (Capital Grille, Palm, Mortons) have private rooms for 25.
Barclay Prime
Can't miss with any of the steaks. Be sure to try the kobe sliders, they rock.
Seafood Western Suburbs
Does anyone have a good recommendation for a seafood restaurant in the Western Suburbs ala Seafoods Unlimited or Little Fish. Looking for good fresh fish without the big overlay of a white tablecloth restaurant.
Thanks
Lobster for anniversary in Main Line or Media area?
Chops on City Ave usually has lobster on the menu
Wedding Rehearsal Dinner along the Main Line??
You might try Pond in Radnor or Nectar in Berwyn. Both have outdoor seating
