Yes, this is true. Pasta Italia opened downtown Chattanooga on MLK. I haven't been yet, but it has received rave reviews so far.

Alleia in Chattanooga
I agree. Alleia is quite good, at least as good as St. John's and Meeting Place. Rodney Simmons is the designer, by the way.
Chattanooga - kid-friendly Sun. Brunch/Lunch?
Try the Broad Street Grille at the Chattanoogan. They have a great buffet. Blue Water Grille has a good brunch also. Aretha's is good but very small. It may be difficult to get in without a wait.
Dinner near Union Square-
Looking for something special in this area. This is for my parents who probably don't want to spend more than $50 pp. Thanks for any suggestions!

Chattanooga: brew pubs or pub grub?
Gordon Biersch has two restaurants downtown and one by Hamilton Place mall. Big River is a brew pub and Blue Water is seafood. Both brew there own beer. Hair of the Dog is also supposed to be ok, but I've never been there
Fun Family dining in Sandestin
Anyone have any suggestions? All price ranges are okay. Seafood and "local" gems?
Chattanooga, TN restaurants...
Canyon Grill is excellent for steak and seafood. Bluewater is also good
Help with Chattanooga
I'll try to list several good places downtown or near downtown.
St John's- the best fine dining in town. Pretty formal, good wine list. The chef uses mostly local ingredients. The Kobe beef is excellent
The Meeting Room - next door to St John's and also owned by the same people. More casual. Excellent apps. kobe beef burger is a good deal for $12
Blue Water- Owned by the Gordon Biersch(sp?) group. Fresh seafood flown in. I like the jerk swordfish
Southern Star has great southern food and desserts. They are not open on weekends
For BBQ, President Bush ate at Porker's. I've never been
Let me know what you like, and I'll tell you what I know!
Need Cheap Family Eats in Atlanta
Gotta try the Varsity. It is cheap, famous and fun for the kids. It is the largest fast food restaurant in the world( or one of the largest. Try the Frosted orange, onion rings and chili dogs!
ATL-between Atlanta and Augusta
What price range? The Ritz at Reynold's Plantation has great dinner and breakfast food. There is also a well known buffet in Madison, whose name escapes me, that is supposed to be good
Good food in Chattanooga, TN?
Aretha's is back open and is supposed to be good. The best brunch in town however is at the Bluff View Art district. See the link:

Good food in Chattanooga, TN?
Think about BlueWater from the Gordon Biersch group. Great seafood, locally brewed beer and unbelievable atmosphere
What's the word on Table for Two?
I tried it right after it opened. The food was good, service just so so, and the prices are reasonable. The atmosphere is outstanding. Looks like a restaurant in New York. The owner used to own Bellagio in Chattanooga, if you are familiar with that restaurant. I enjoyed the frito misto, the tuna tartar, and thai lamb the best.
Post a report after eating there!
New Restaurants in Chattanooga
Several good new restaurants have opened in Chattanooga in the last several months. I wanted to give my opinion and get others opinions:
Table 2- Opened in November, Cool atmosphere. Try the Tuna tartar, Thai lamb and the Frito Misto app. Wide variety of styles from the former owner of Bellagio
Blue Water- Part of the Gordon Biersche(sp?) group. Fresh fish, great atmosphere. Try the Jerk swordfish and the bread pudding
Blue Plate- near the Aquarium. diner style. Great homemade food and veggies. Unbelievable chicken fingers (yeah, I know, chicken fingers..)
Henons. Steaks and seafood. I had the filet and it was tasty. Several good appetizers
Foodworks- A converted warehouse on Manufacturer's Rd( across the river from downtown. Try the Blue cheese sweet potato chip app.
What does everyone think?
