Wellesley or nearby suggestions?

I highly recommend Cafe Mangal! The food is absolutely amazing. All made from scratch, you can really taste the love that has gone into the food. Cafe Mangal is family owned and very comfortable.

It is BYOB so bring a bottle or two of your own wine. Try the humus, try the lamb, try the arugula and avocado salad. So good!

Good pizza in West Suburbs??

[removed by poster.]

Good breakfast in Waltham

I personally think Wilson's is great, especially for the price, which is not much. His pancakes are great, his eggs are always perfect, and his homefries are very good. Sure, the coffee isn't great, but it's not bad either. It's a diner, you're not going to get outstanding coffee. Decaf is Sanka, but that's fairly common at a diner.

Best burger in Boston ????? any successors to Tim's on Columbus Ave

While technically in Brookline, I think that the burger at Washington Square Tavern is outstanding, and yes, the fries are great!

Red Pepper Framingham - NO service NO food

You should try out Green Tea II that opened in the old Michi Kusa spot. Their Szechuan Beef Noodle Soup is outstanding! http://onefoodguy.blogspot.com/2008/01/szechuan-style-beef-noodle-soup.html

Best Chinese outside of Chinatown?

My favorite spot in Brookline is Golden Temple, they have the BEST crab rangoon I have ever had, and I've had a lot of them.

Imperial China is great in Framingham, as is the new place Green Tea II http://onefoodguy.blogspot.com/2008/01/szechuan-style-beef-noodle-soup.html

Pre-theater dining

I'll second the nod to Hell's Kitchen Restaurant http://hellskitchen-nyc.com - the food is consistently outstanding and the staff is super friendly.

Your choice for Trader Joe's BEST item

One of my new favorite Trader Joe's items is the chocolate covered pretzel balls. I keep them in the fridge, they are soo good.

Gitlo's now has Pork Buns (Char Siu Bao)

Great, thanks! I'm there!

Raw Oyster Virgin Seeks Affordable Sampling?

I say you should go to Neptune. The last time I was there they had twelve different oysters in their raw bar.

Check out my review http://onefoodguy.blogspot.com/2007/03/neptune-oyster-worth-wait.html

Boston street-food favorites?

I obviously did not know that. Thanks for the update. It's been a little while since I've been over there, I'm going to have to venture over and check it out soon.

Gitlo's now has Pork Buns (Char Siu Bao)

Where is Gitlo's?

Boston street-food favorites?

While not a cart, Chacarero in Downtown Crossing requires you to stand in two different lines outside, one to order, one to pick up, and eat outside - or carry it back to your office. Chacarero is sort of like the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld, not in that the staff are jerks, but you MUST know what you are ordering when you get to the front of the line. They won't tell you to leave if you don't but they will quickly get impatient!

Oysters and HDTV

Atlantic Fish Company on Boylston has great oysters, I don't know if they have a TV at the bar though. Neptune Oyster in the North End on Salem Street has at least a dozen varieties but again, not sure about the TV.

What about Union Oyster House or B&G Oysters?

I'd suggest calling about the TV part.

Wagamama open today?

Where is Ken's Ramen?

Pea Tendrils

Great, thank you!

Dim Sum or not to Dim Sum - that is the question?

I don't know what it's like at the dim sum houses in NYC, but in Boston, specifically at China Pearl and Chau Chow City, language is sometimes an issue with the women pushes the carts. If you point to something, they will think you want it and put it on your table.

Don't point to anything on the cart unless you want it. Ask, don't point, what things they have on the cart. Otherwise, enjoy!

Dim Sum or not to Dim Sum - that is the question?

I'm not able to recommend any spots in Manhattan for dim sum, but I can tell you it's an experience worth having. I love dim sum. If you like dumplings, rice noodles, shrimp, pork, etc. it's worth it. Go hungry and leave stuffed, that's usually the rule!

Spinach and Tofu Egg Roll Lovers Unite!

Hi. If you loved the Trader Ming's Vegetarian Spinach and Tofu Egg Rolls that Trader Joe's used to sell, you were likely upset when they discontinued them.

In an effort to persuade Trader Joe's to bring the egg rolls back to the freezer case, I've started a grassroots campaign to encourage followers to send a note to Trader Joe's.

Please visit http://spinachandtofu.blogspot.com to join the campaign and find out how you can help bring back Trader Ming's Spinach and Tofu Egg Rolls!

Best dim sum or Taiwanese breakfast in Chinatown?

China Pearl has them too, as does Chao Chow City around the corner,.

Pea Tendrils

Thanks! I live close by Edgel, is the farmers market on the center green? Do you know when, what days, times the farmers market is?

Pea Tendrils

I live in Framingham. Does anyone know where I can buy fresh pea tendrils in the greater Metrowest area?

Crab Rangoons - Where are you?

The BEST crab rangoon are at Golden Temple in Washington Square, Brookline. Loaded with crab, they are crispy and delicious. Always very very good. In general the menu is a bit on the expensive side for Chinese food, but the food is excellent.

Good (or at least pretty good) pizza in Allston-Brighton?

Pizza Etc. in Oak Square has great pizza.

Along Route 9

So yes, Eo Noodle is great. Acapulcos on the eastbound side just before the Mass Pike on ramps has outstanding authentic Mexican food. Their Tacos Al Pastor and Combo Fajitas are my favorite. They also make great margaritas and treat all guests to a basket of warm, fresh tortilla chips and salsa when you sit down. The service is always friendly, and very prompt.

Cheng Du is a good Chinese restaurant.

Michi Kusa is my favorite sushi restaurant on the Route 9 strip. Its right at 126, and always has fresh fish. Very good, the owner Brian is also generous with his regular customers.

Along Route 9

I'll second Eo Noodle, their noodle soups are great. They also have fantastic Szechuan chicken ravioli (wantons) - I ordered them steamed and the sauce is delicious!

Good pizza in West Suburbs??

It's just a bit closer to Watertown Street. It is on the west side of the street, there is a sign out front, but it's subtle and easily missed if you aren't looking for it.

Manhattanite needs a place for moderately priced "thank you" dinner

Central Kitchen in Central Square, Cambridge is a good recommendation,

But I would take them to Washington Square Tavern in Washington Square, Brookline. No sign out front, all the traffic through the restaurant is by word of mouth, its definitely a local spot. The food is great, the owner is friendly, the wine list is extensive, really really good.

Good pizza in West Suburbs??

Francesca's on Adam's Street in Nonantum (Newton) has great pizza. All homemade, with love. Family owned, tiny Italian eatery. You need to know where it is to find it, there is a small sign out front, but driving down the street, it blends into the rest of the residential neighborhood.

Good pizza in West Suburbs??

Try Goodies pizza on Concord Street (Rt 126) in Framingham, just north of Routes 9 and 30. Its in a small strip mall next to J&M Diner, another great spot. Goody makes a fantastic veggie special, ask for it well done or you risk having the crust be a little soggy due to all the veggies.

The cheese pizza and pepperoni pizzas are great too. Nice place. Not gourmet like Figs, but good solid pizza.
