Corning or Elmira area restaurants?

I have had good luck at curleys chicken in horseheads, just off rt 17. homey almost funky chicken house. went there when I was looking at colleges and it was still there when I took my son to also look at western ny colleges.
I've seen some down reviews lately but let me put it out there

Chinese New Year's Banquet

My office is looking to go to a great chinese restaurant for a new years banquet. While the office is in Yonkers we are happy to travel around lower Westchester, take the train to Manhattan's china town or car pool to chinatown in Queens. We are happy to leave the contentious year of the tiger and are looking forward to a calmer more prosperous year of the rabbit.

Thanks for your great reccomendations.

Calf's foot jelly and other foods you've read about but never had - some of which you'd like to

Ahhh, it's one of those things that you either love or hate! I grew up wondering how my parents could choke down feesel (little feet in Yiddish) since I could only eat it before the soup cooled down. As a hot beef soup with plenty of garlic it was great. As jiggly yuck on a plate - not so! Until I finally came to like it. Then like a chowhound I found that the Polish butcher shop near me in Yonkers sold goyish feesel made from pork. Pretty damn good! It's worth giving it a try.

New Peruvian Restaurant on Central Ave, Yonkers?

Had dinner there on Friday night with the family. We are not experts at Peru's foods but had a really fine dinner for 4 that without dessert & coffee (too full to bother) at just under $100. Stylish looking place, nice china and good service. Food was interesting, really good, and right sized and priced. We are going back and the office is planning a lunch outing as soon as they are up and ready for lunches.

Blueberry Picking

Blueberry Park is still there we are just not open as much as when my in-laws were around. The pick your own crowd is distressingly thin and silly. We would be open and get a handful of folks coming up for a drive in the country unready for picking (stepping out of the miata he in flip flops she in high heel mules asking "are there bugs in there?") and it was not worth the time there. We will be there Sunday Aug 2 in the afternoon and you are more than welcome.
