Gelatto in Edmonton?
You are correct, I used to get the experiments right from the machine many years ago. I hope the product delivered is still good.
Gelatto in Edmonton?
This used to be the best in Edmonton, I haven't been there for a while.

Give them a call and ask for details or just go and sample.
Good Gelato hunting to you.

I'd rather eat breakfast at a place like the "Red Goose" in Edmonton than any chain restaurant.
Yes it's a bit divey, but the food is better than chain food.
Barb and Ernies sucks I must say.
Just my opinion as many people like it.
Worst kitchen screwup.
Some people pay money to have marks like that on their body
I have a few cooking scars that is just what happens when you make many efforts in the kitchen.
If you had no scars, maybe you would be a much less experienced cook..
Good on you as they say.
Worst kitchen screwup.
far from an idiot you are becoming an experienced cook. We all make kitchen mistakes and learn from them. I have never been pregnant and have screwed up many times.
Go forth Huntress!
Need a place for my 50th Bday dinner in Edmonton
Went to the Red Ox for dinner,
The food was excellent, the service was very good. I would say in fact that our server had the most detailed description of specials I have ever heard from any restaurant staff.
I had a special pork dish and my dining companions both had the beef dish from the menu.
We shared an appetizer of shrimp.
All ingredients were great in all dishes and the preparation was excellent.
I would give it a very high rating with only a few exceptions.
It was very noisy to the point we had to leave because of it.
We had a very good dinner and would go back.
I would suggest to the Red Ox that they do a few things to dampen the acoustics in the room a bit.
Over all it was good but for the noise.
Accessibility was also very bad for my disabled mother getting in and out of the restaurant. Very nearly an accident.

Worst kitchen screwup.
Washing the dishes after a fine dinner at home I had a wee issue.
The dish water would not drain. So I in my infinite wisdom stuck my hand in the sudsy water to clear the drain. I swished my hand around in the drain area to clear what i thought was debris.
Needless to say I came up with a shredded hand.
A broken wine glass had blocked the drain and my hand was not the best way to find it.
Ouch.

See Gerge Carlin "it;s bad for ya" about old fart's
A great bit of fun
Just watched today and had a great laugh about becoming an old fart.
The Bank
It was super in the 80's I had many great times there.
A great building, beautiful space. How it is now I do not know.
Check Calgary club listings.
Have a wonderful Bday when is it? mine is early March
Good luck after many incarnations as I have heard I hope they have preserved a wonderful space.
Happy Birthday to you!

Pineapple on pizza is just plain wrong unless you are making some kind of fruit dessert pizza.
Just my opinion I know some people young and old like it but I think it's a sin.

Thanks for your thoughtfulness. I am just a hardass when it comes to second chances.
Usually I have found second chance restaurant experiences are worse than the first.
There are so many places for us to spend our money I just return to the good ones.
The day I was there McDonalds was making better Frites I'm sure.
Dan I am not saying I want basic food, I am saying a dish you find in any restarant is a good comparison point. When I go into a place I want to try the dishes they have in common with other places to check them out. If they are bad I will stop ordering asap.
If I go into a place and the basics are worse than many others I have tried, it's a sign of things to come in the rest of the meal.
The last thing I want is a meal thats average.
If you give me a bad starter and fries I probably am not going to enjoy the rest.
When I leave most of my meal on the plate and don't want to take it home, it was bad.
Worst kitchen screwup.
That one has been done many times in many ways. Like dishsoap in the washing machine. I think my deep fry incident was much better with the property destruction and danger elements.
But I do respect all the humorous aspects in these stories.
The tough ones to hear are when somebody gets hurt.
My broken wine glass in the dishwater storey has yet to be told, but it's no fun.

Defending the food there, so I did not like what I was served. I did not write a review of this place.
So if you like it as I said earlier go enjoy.
I'm sure they must do some good work just not when I went I guess.
I am done talking about this.
Worst kitchen screwup.
I love that one, I've never done anything like that :) Thanks for sharing
Worst kitchen screwup.
Ouch I came close with one of my pressure cookers to your experience.
I collected expresso machines for several years and have had many interesting close calls with a few stovetop units.
I hope you are all good now.
Take care David

A "yardstick" dish is one you can compare in almost any restaurant.
In this case Caesar salad and Frites or fries. Yes my served food was poor.
Menu was ok just not the execution..

Culina was a food issue. Poor yardstick dishes.
Wildflower was also not to my taste it was a while ago so I don't remember the exact details.
I have a policy I'll try a place once if I have a bad experience I do not return ever.
When I get invited to one of those places which I have tried and not liked I generally will not go.
If I do I will not eat there just have a beverage.
Reviews are not something I depend upon very much.
Many people love restaurants I don't like and they should enjoy them.
I do have high expectations of any restaurant and more often than not I wish to dine in house.
No second chances for any place with me. They get one shot at my wallet and palate and thats it.
It does bother me to go to well reviewed places and be disappointed.
Worst kitchen screwup.
I did another screwup that was huge
I was a volunteer for a Jazz festival and in addition to my other duties I voluntereed to be the lead cook for the wrap party. 300 people attemding.
Good intentions pave the road to #$%&
After all the effort to produce some very decent food I royally screwed up.
I put all food out at once and the first people saw the abundance and loaded the plates very heavily.
Leaving no food for almost half the people,
Rookie catering mistake but wow did I feel bad.
Food was great but I was a poor caterer for sure.
Live and learn I guess.
Sorry hungry Jazz people
Magnalite
Good to hear this support is going on.

Need a place for my 50th Bday dinner in Edmonton
Thanks much for the well wishes. I will have to find an alternate as they are booked at the Red Ox on my chosen day. I should have sorted this out months ago I guess.
Need a place for my 50th Bday dinner in Edmonton
Thank you very much, I am a former patron of the Red Ox. In the days of Bernie Peck (former chef owner) for those who remember.
A great suggestion. I have not been there for years..
It was very good back in the days that I went there. I have read good things in the last while.
Take care David

I tend not to like the type of food at Ricky's, it is all the bad food I talked about in the original post.
Restaurants need to do a much better job than they are doing at Ricky's.
Some people here are beginning to talk about Cora's.
But we shall see.
