New entry for Orlando's best burger I stopped by Junior's this evening, and it lived up to the hype. The combination of flavors is hard to describe, but absolutely delicious. If I lived closer I'd make it a regular stop. I'm glad more of these types of businesses and food trucks are making their way south. My schedule pretty much never allows me to get up to WP or Downtown/Colonial, but at least we have these and the occasional truck on Sand Lake to go along with the Hispanic offerings on OBT. |

Was it the Pointe Orlando location? I was just there recently and was appalled at how poor the service was. Our group was also lucky enough to get a table near a server's station, so a large group of servers were constantly hanging out discussing personal issues right behind us during the meal. One of them even started a wonderful discussion of what he'd like to do to one of the female managers if he weren't married. |

Adiós Orlando's Best Taco Shop I haven't been down the stretch of OBT where that Beto's is located in a while, but I sure hope it hasn't changed. |

Picking Up Lamb Chops at Dinner? I'm getting every last bit of meat off those bones and if that means using my teeth to gnaw it off, so be it. |

Food Network "Down Home with the Neely's" If Gina could keep her mouth shut for more than 5 seconds this show might actually be watchable. |

Portillo's in Chicago is one of the best examples I can think of. They've recently opened a few stores out in California too to take advantage of all the LA area Chicago transplants. |

Great episode with the exception of Roeper. I can't stand to look at or listen to that smug bastard. |

Some customisation is OK... but this?? As a current service employee (not in the restaurant business though), I loved that article and wished more businesses thought that way. Employees need to be the focus if you expect to offer great service, not the customers. |

Barbacoa fajita burrito with medium salsa, cheese, and lettuce. |

does anyone else hate eating alone in public? I can't stand eating alone and the main reasoning for that is terrible service and the awkward feeling of just sitting at an empty table waiting for the food to arrive. I'll only go out by myself if it is a counter service place and even then I'm never truly comfortable. A young college male eating alone is certainly looked down upon as far as I've seen. |

Orlando Recommendations - Universal Studios Visit Make sure to eat at Mythos while at Islands of Adventure. Best restaurant you'll ever find in a theme park setting. |

Eats in Orlando for March weekend That would be a good choice as well. There is usually some entertainment in addition to artists and it gets pretty busy at dinner. Might be too far to walk, especially after a pitcher or two of sangria, but would be a very quick/cheap cab ride. |

Eats in Orlando for March weekend Across the street from the Rosen Centre is Pointe Orlando. which offers plenty of dining options and is definitely the most convenient option. I'd highly recommend both Redrock Canyon Grill and Taverna Opa. The latter could definitely fit the fun requirement, depending on if you find table dancing, shouting, and paper napkin tossing enjoyable. I'll let others guide you towards more of the hidden gems as my experiences here have been limited by funds and having little desire to dine solo. |

favorite thing to eat from panera? Bacon Turkey Bravo and the Asian Sesame Chicken salad. |

What happened to Pizzeria Uno? They have tried to become a more mainstream casual eatery instead of just a pizzeria with the Uno Chicago Grill name as opposed to pizzeria. They can't even fill the places here in Orlando most nights, which is saying something in a town where chains thrive. |

What do you do when you know a customer IS wrong....it happens I wish more managers would stand up to the obvious scammers, at the very least for the sake of their employees who have to deal with these abusive people on a regular basis. I work in the service industry and can't stand listening to these people yell, curse, and lie to me on a daily basis only to watch the manager step in and give them exactly what they want and walk away. Just once I'd like to see them stand their ground and refuse to give in. If you want to have any faith in the human race, stay away from the service industry. You would have never imagined that there were that many absolutely despicable people in the world. It's hard to think about the good experiences with customers when the horrible ones are so frequent and abusive. |

Rather shocking restaurant safety PSA from Canada Yikes! What is the purpose of showing the Canadian public a woman with her face burning off? Seems like something the home cooking public doesn't need to see. |

I get to eat at Cici's near me for 2.99 and it really isn't any different than Papa John's or Dominos, so I give them a thumbs up. Plus the salad bar is the only time I actually get something green in my diet. I don't eat many salads back in the dorm room. |

Culvers: Minnesota and Wisconsin hamburger and custard chain Very juicy burgers and great custard. Always stop there a few times while in Wisconsin visiting relatives |

Good local fare south of Orlando Do I need to speak Spanish or will I be ok without? I ask every time an authentic place is mentioned now because I had a bad experience once. Nobody warned me that not a single person in the restaurant spoke English so I ended up making a fool out of myself during that meal with my high school Spanish. |

Good local fare south of Orlando I'm a local and I'd sure be interested in a place like that! |

Orlando's Absolutely Best Pizza If you are looking for true Chicago style head to Giordano's. |

IHOP - pumpkin, carrot cake and cheesecake "pancakes" I had the pumpkin pancakes yesterday and there were delicious. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone that needs their pumpkin fix this time of the year. |

Next Iron Chef Finale [Spoiler inside] It sure did seem like the chefs preferred Besh's food during the episode, but maybe they didn't think he was a good fit for the show as a whole with his personality. They may have been looking more towards that then the actual food in front of them. Otherwise I can't understand why they voted that way as everything they said during the tasting made it seem like Besh's was the winner. Besh seems like he would've been more of a challenge as an IC, based on the fact that he beat Batali (pretty soundly if I remember correctly) in his appearance on the show and just seems like he always has a handle on things. |

|
Next Iron Chef Finale [Spoiler inside] I just wish they had shown how everyone voted. I was a little disappointed in that. Overall I think either would have been a great fit, but like you, had been rooting for Besh. |

Five Guys is far and away the better of the two. I still don't understand the hype surrounding In-n-Out, the burger wasn't much better than what you could get at Wendy's. Maybe the location I visited out there wasn't up to snuff, but I was really disappointed after hearing people rave about it. Five Guys always serves up a massive, hot, juicy sandwich with anything I want on it and I couldn't ask for much more than that. |

Food and Wine festival '07 @ Disney's EPCOT, Orlando, FL You pay for them at each country's stand. I paid in cash, but they take debit/credit cards. |

Food and Wine festival '07 @ Disney's EPCOT, Orlando, FL I must say that the small portion really was one of the main reasons I was disappointed. Other than that it just wasn't what I had expected. I didn't think it tasted much like a potato pancake. I'm so used to the type of ones you get at Jewish deli's that it wasn't the flavor I was looking for. |

Food and Wine festival '07 @ Disney's EPCOT, Orlando, FL Was at EPCOT the past two days and tried many things as a result. I'm just going to list the things I had and a simple yes or no as to whether I would have it again. If anyone has a specific question I'll answer it. Argentina Spain Ireland China Germany Poland Hops and Barley Japan Australia Canada Peru Overall my two favorites were the Austrailan offerings. I'll be trying more as the month goes on. I also went to one of the culinary demonstrations yesterday and it was very nice. I'm planning on hitting several more of those before the event is over. |

Orlando area: ethnic gems and a fancy place? Good to hear. I always worry about looking completely out of place when I go to a houndish restaurant. I'm putting it near the top of my list to try out in the next few weeks. I just haven't had the time, motivation, or interest in spending, to eat out much since I've started school here. Now that I've started working I'll hopefully be out more since I don't have to feel as guilty about spending money. |
