recs for party of 7?

hi everyone,
i'll be visiting toronto this coming week with my family and promised to find a couple of good places for us. fortunately all of us will eat anything, so there aren't any limitations as far as types of food, but we would like to keep it in the range of $15-30 per entree. (though canoe does sound fantastic!) i'd love to go to at least one place that's authentically canadian if possible, but any ethnicity is fine. we'll have a van so we can drive somewhere, but we prefer neighborhoods we can walk around before/after dinner. thanks in advance!

p.s. we'll also be in niagara/niagara on the lake for a couple of days, so if you know of any places to eat there, please let me know, too!

knoxville, pigeon forge, or anything in between recs?

hi everyone,
a few friends of mine and i are coming in to knoxville this weekend (technically staying in pigeon forge), and we'd love some great recommendations, for both restaurants and any kind of food we can cook/take away. i've done some searching and it seems like there are mixed opinions about pig burgers, roux barb, and calhoun so far. what would you recommend to not miss? we lean more towards regional specialties (we're all coming in from new york and california, so we'd like to to avoid things like italian or japanese unless they have a really interesting southern twist to them). many thanks in advance!

Where can I get Life & Limb in NYC?

upper west side whole foods has them in bombers (22 oz) for $11. (just called to confirm so i could get one or two myself.)

indian mangoes in berkeley?

i've called almost everywhere and i can't find any. does anyone have any leads?

links not being added to post

sorry i haven't replied back. i'm posting on os x, 10.5.5, ff 3.0.3, if it helps. haven't tried safari.

links not being added to post

i replied here http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/560796 and searched to add the link. the site found the restaurant, said it would add the link, then... nothing. no option to link to a place when editing, either. i'm trying it here to see if it works as well.

matsusaka beef

is it available anywhere around sf? or mishima beef, but that's even rarer. and if anyone's ever tried it, i'd love to hear what it's like, and if you thought it was worth it.

SF - Yes Virginia, there IS a Cuban sandwich truck

just came back from 25th & Harrison sandwich-less. Anyone see it recently?

farm tours

hi all,
does anyone know of farms that will do tours this weekend, or at least in general? the ones i've found on the sites i've visited aren't updated too often. actually, anything food-related and in marin/north bay would probably be okay too, at least for today or tomorrow.

Fish & Farm

went for dinner last night for 4. foodwise was fine (ribeye, sablefish, salmon, venison ribs, salt cod fritters, bread pudding and pear crisp were all good to very good; filet mignon was reported as undercooked and lacking flavor), service was pretty rough. they comped us quite a bit, but they need a lot more experience before i'd plan another dinner there. it'll get better, for sure, but in time.

heirloom tomato juice? (e.g., happy girl kitchen's)

over at the ferry building farmer's market on saturdays is an outfit called happy girl kitchen (http://happygirlkitchen.com/). they got me hooked on heirloom tomato juice, or htj as i'm now calling it, but they don't think they'll have any more for the next couple of months. does anyone know anywhere else i can get it? have you had it anywhere (i.e., restaurants) i can try to call and hunt down? thanks!

Search - No sorting by date?

just another user who won't use the site again until sorting by date is possible. thanks
