Best meal I ever ate:
Well, Uchiko delivered in spades - a couple "moaning out loud" bites, and a great panoply of flavors, temperatures, textures - comforting and exciting at the same time.
My current drink of choice:
Exploring French wine - loving the rose in the increasing heat
I really wish I could:
bake bread
My "Go-to" dinner party dish:
Lasagne - homemade pasta, homemade ricotta, homemade pork ragu, homemade sausage, homemade meatballs, and good fresh mozzerella - salad of red leaf lettuce, arugula, avocado, blanched asapragus with a mustard vinaigrette. Bread - the best available, since although i can make a lot of things I can't bake bread to save my life.
My favorite comfort food:
mofongo, asopao, a farm fresh egg frizzled in olive oil, topped with sea salt, with a slice of good, honest bread (as mfk would say)
My top 5 favorite restaurants:
again, just to date: bacco-sf, uchi/ko-austin, alta taberna paco meralgo-bcn, quality seafood-austin, hakka-sf
