Soy Milk vs. Rice Milk vs. Almond Milk vs. Skim Milk vs. ??? We don't have TJ's here in Austin yet. When we do get one and it will be soon, there will be world peace, an end to famine and all diseases will be miraculously cured. ;-) |

Oh, someone please remember... Remember, if in chowhound's search, you have to change the date range in the advanced search or you just get the last 12 months. Sometimes if i use google i can find stuff in chowhound easier than chowhound's search. edited post: |

The "Prize Turkey" in "A Christmas Carol": Shouldn't it have been a goose? Right, but the goose was eaten at the meal that the ghost of Xmas present took him to. |

Assessing a bar before ordering Oops, I fat fingered it. I meant negroni, of course, but then all negronis make me happy. |

Assessing a bar before ordering I went to an italian place once. A fairly large chain, and ordered a negrini. The waitress asked initially if i meant peligrini, and i said no :ask the bartender if he / she knows how to make it. |

I'm totally hijacking this thread. About a month ago we were in the same food trailer park, and decided to try "Hey!... You Gonna Eat or What?". |

Seltzer, someone enlighten me, please I guess the pressure is the key, is that right? It'd seem like it would have more pressure than store bought. |

Seltzer, someone enlighten me, please So i posted this on the spirits board, Basically, some questions stemming from an article in the NY Times about Eli Miller, New York's senior seltzer delivery man. Getting lukewarm response on the spirits board, i thought i'd post here. It's a good article about a disappearing profession (and until now, unheard of to me). Sort of like when i tell my kids that we used to have a milkman that delivered milk to the house in the 60's. |

According to the article, “You drop one of these, it will explode,” he said, holding one up. “Inside here is triple-filtered New York City water with 80 pounds of carbonic pressure.” I assume that is a lot more pressure than you get out of a soda stream or store bought seltzer. |

The 8 Best Beer Towns in America A couple of weeks ago I bought a sixer of Real Ale double ESB. Pretty tasty. |

Whataburger Ketchup (and mustard) at HEB I like WB. It's one of my favorite hamburger chains. That said, I never noticed anything different about their ketchup or mustard. |

I read this great article about a week ago about this guy, Eli Miller, one of the last seltzer men in NYC, and presumably the country. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/04/28/nyr... Accordingto the article, there are only about a handful left. Anyway, Eli says the reason he still does this at 79 is “I don’t want them to have to drink that dreck you buy in the supermarket,”. So, not ever being exposed to the real thing, i have a few questions. Any information would be helpful. |

I am not going to get into what is appropriate vs, what's not appropriate. I could care less. I was just pointing out the peculiar nature of the word "eatery". There are very few words like "eatery" in which the activity (verb) that a patron does there gets "ery" added to it to make it a noun, so i made up some to illustrate. |
