Any more Maid Rite Burgers in Missouri?

There's a Maid Rite at the Lake of the Ozarks on Hwy 54; it's in the gas station that I think is in front of the Hy-vee.

There's also a new one just opened in Ferguson, which is in the north county suburbs of St. Louis. Haven't been there but you can google it for more specific location.

Visiting St. Louis area

Since everybody is taking the opportunity to bash Wright City, I'd like to point out two good, but very different, dining options in WC. Donatelli's Bar & Grill has very good St. Louis style Italian food, every bit as good as what you'd find on the Hill. And for a fun night out and great cheeseburgers, there's Hillbilly Heaven. So even the 'burbs have something to offer.

Need Recs - Lunch on The Hill in STL

I am a huge fan of Zia's as well. As for Cunetto's, the last time I was there, I was extremely disappointed. It was for dinner, not lunch, the wait was long, the restaurant tables were packed closely together, and it was loud. Service was below average. Most importantly, the food wasn't even that good. I've had better at Pasta House!

Big Juicy Steak recs -- STL?

I would second the vote for Kreis' on Lindbergh. Great quality meat, and their atmosphere is a little bit out of the 50s-60s. You would definitely want to make reservations.

Driving from Duluth to Grand Marais -- lunch recs?

My husband and I will be driving from Duluth to Grand Marais, and back, one day next week on business. I'm looking for suggestions on somewhere to stop for lunch. I'm not sure exactly where we'll be around lunchtime, as we have to make stops along the way, so any recommendations between the two points would be helpful. Looking for something locally owned, with a view of the lake, and preferably somewhere with some local fish/seafood.

San Francisco hound itinerary questions for St. Louis hounds.

Another suggestion for before or after the Cards game is the Broadway Oyster Bar. I don't know if it's your kind of scene or not, but it's a dive bar within walking distance of Busch Stadium, on Broadway. You don't expect to get good oysters in the St. Louis area, but theirs are fabulous! The Bloody Marys are also wonderful, they usually have a small band, and it's a great place for good food and good people watching on game days.

Birthday dinner in Ventura

Looking for a suggestion for dinner for my birthday. Will be in Ventura for two weeks and am not at all familiar w/the area. Pretty open as to types of food, don't mind spending $100 or so for two people, but don't want to break the bank. I tried to do a search for Ventura on the board, but so many of the results were mentioning Ventura Blvd., not the actual town itself.

Thanks in advance!

Good Chinese in Petaluma

Can anyone recommend a halfway decent Chinese restaurant in Petaluma? Buffet is acceptable as long as the food is good. I know I can find better Chinese in Santa Rosa, but we will be tired from a day of wineries and don't want to drive any further than necessary.

Also, hopefully something open on a Monday, as I know many small restaurants are not.

Small wineries in Napa and Sonoma

Would like to put in a vote for Imagery, a small winery in Sonoma. They are owned by the Benziger family, but unlike Benziger, their wines are not mass-produced nor sold outside of the area. Great wine, great people, and their wine labels are done by local artists. Very highly recommended.

Key Largo?

For a nice dinner out I would recomment Marker 88 in Islamorada, about 12 miles from Key Largo. Excellent food, is a little pricey. Also had great martinis and a wonderful winelist.

Where to eat in Venice?

We were in Venice mid-January, had a fabulous dinner at the Crows Nest. It's right on the water, but our view wasn't too good because they had fog this particular evening. Great bar downstairs where we waited for about 15 minutes on a weeknight. Very good food, a little pricey but worth it. I've heard good things about Sharkys on the Pier, but haven't been myself. I think it's more casual. Crows Nest does have a website, if you do a search for it you should be able to find menu, wine list, etc.

Chinese food in Corpus Christi

By SPID do you mean South Padre Island Drive? If so, then I know the one you mean, and I will avoid it!

Chinese food in Corpus Christi

Can anyone recommend a Chinese restaurant (sit-down) in Corpus Christi? My husband and I are staying in Port Aransas, and I know there's nothing here on the island. I'm always nervous to try a Chinese place without somebody else telling me it's good first, because if it's bad, it's usually really terrible!
