Can you eat cold french fries?

Or how about a cold toasted bagel? When I get a toasted bagel for breakfast I have to eat it right away. Once it is no longer hot - I can't eat it. This means I don't want to stop and chit chat or be distracted in any way. The fries that get cold get left behind too. I know someone who will reheat fries in the microwave.

What are some foods that you have to eat piping hot or freezing cold or only at room temperature?

Where can I buy Italian Soda by the case?

I really love the blood orange and grapefruit sodas at Trader Joe's. Unfortunately, I don't have a car and find the customers at Trader Joe's (14th Street, Union Square, NYC) to be some of the rudest. I swear it is worse there than at Whole Foods or any other market I've been to. Either way when I do go I can only get as much as I can carry comfortably on the train and would love to stock up.

Sushi to go - From Midtown to Queens?

Thanks for the recs. I ended up going to Iroha on 49th between 6th and 7th. I got the spicy tuna rolls, crispy salmon skin rolls, yellowtail, eel, and egg sushi, and edamame. All pretty good (and in my price range).

Sushi to go - From Midtown to Queens?

Today has been crap. I want to treat myself. The plan is me, at home, with kitties, tv on, phone off. And of course something really good to eat. I work in Midtown West - 50th between 6th and 7th. I'm in the mood for sushi but any other suggestions would be much appreciated.

I would order something once I got home but I live in Richmond Hill. I don't drive and there aren't many delivery options in the area.

Thanks!

From work to home - good takeout? 50th and 7th

You work late, you know you do not want to cook when you get home. But you have to eat, right?

So what are some options to pick up on your way home? Right now I am starving! If I don't grap something on the way dinner will be ice cream or cereal. Or both.

Delivery to Richmond Hill, Jamaica Ave. I'm dying.

Yeah I take E train to the J train to 104th Street. Is the Tandoori Hut any good? What do you recommend?

I'm open to anything. Mexican, Indian (East and West), Italian. And if you know of a good butcher and general supermarket in the area I want to know about it too.

Even the 99cent stores suck.

Delivery to Richmond Hill, Jamaica Ave. I'm dying.

Megumi delivers. So do the local chinese and spanish food places. Anything else? I'm at Jamaica Ave and 104th street. I don't drive.

I'm at the point where I will get food delivered to my job and trek it home on the E train.

Or do I just need to move? The rent is affordable.

Cheese @ BJs? What's your fave? And other tasty items...

I'm making a run later on today (Brooklyn, NY). I want to know your favorite snack items from BJs specifically. My favorite snack is cheese - but I wont be able to make it to Murray's or Ideal until sometime next week.

So what are your favorite cheeses, chips, bakery, ice cream buys? Anything in the frozen section worth getting?

Mealy watermelon! What else can I do with it??

I bought it off the street yesterday. It was so beautiful and soo heavy. I thought it would be perfect. Would it make a good agua fresca? Is there any other way to use it or is it a loss?

Sausage? What is your favorite and where do you get it?

In my head I love sausage. But whenever I eat it I am underwhelmed especially supermarket sausage. I have learned my lesson and will never by fresh chorizo again. I am specifically looking for something that will go great with pastas. Orrechiete and cavatelli.

Where can I find honey - like the kind in the Fage Total Yogurt

Thanks for all the suggestions! I went to Kalustyans - WOW! Awesome store. I bought an Attika and an Orino Thyme honey. Now I wish I got the Leatherwood one as well. I am gorging myself on Total Fage and honey. Thanks again! The stand at Rockefeller Center seems to only sell one variety of clover honey. I'm going to check out Union Square as well.

Where can I find honey - like the kind in the Fage Total Yogurt

Zergut seems to be comparable to some people. Are there any places in NYC where I can find this? Or any good honey. Do I have to go to Astoria? Where?

My grandmother used to mix honey with cod liver oil as my medicine. So it is only just recently that I can appreciate honey. Otherwise I end up with cod lvier oil taste memories.

Good breakfast by 52nd and 5th? Homefries??

I am so sick of metro, devon & blakely, digby's. If I wake up early enough I go to ess-a-bagel. Are there any decent places for breakfast in this area? I would love some delicious homefries in the morning - crisp and onion-y. Please tell me there is something decent out there.

Just moved to Richmond Hill (JTrain 104th Street)

Any recs for good Mexican in this area? Or anything good period?

Annie Chun's in Midtown?

I have $4 for lunch today. One of these soups would really hit the spot. Any idea where I can find them in Midtown? I am on 53rd between 5th and 6th. Thanks.

Food gifts for picky non foodie family members??

I usually bake or get cookies and other desserts as gifts and would like to expand my selection. My family likes their steaks well done, think blue cheese is nasty, and wouldn't even try sushi. I want to try some other food items but not offend them or get anything that they wont eat. Any suggestions? I'm also trying not to spend too much money. There are a lot of family members - 3 couples, 2 single moms plus about 10 kids to shop for. I skip over my generation and give the oldest and the youngest gifts. That's a lot of shopping!

Great Mexican food in the Bronx!!

I've been living in the Parkchester section of the Bronx for about a year. I have been on the hunt for great take out and this new place recently opened up - Taqueria Tlaxcalli! The food is great. They make delicious chorizo burritos and have tasty soft tacos. The guacamoli is fantastic as well. It is a tiny little restaurant with great artwork and seating for about 20. The empanadas de frutas are delicious as well. I work in midtown and have been to Tehuitzingo Deli and Pampano(?) and usually make the trek from Fifth Avenue when the craving hits. It's great to have something close. Go there!

oops, let me add the address and number
