Shamrock Shake

Thanks for all the suggestions. Just for those wondering, I swear this shake used to be good. First they added whipped cream and a cherry, then they started using some disgusting machine. As one person wrote, one taste and into the trash. The key was it was a mint shake. Mint Chip shakes suck in my opinion, but of course that's just me. I'll try Cafe 50s and Milk shortly and will report back.

Shamrock Shake

I need some help Chowhound peeps. Once a year I journey to McDonald's, and that once a year is usually around this time. My journey is reserved for the Shamrock Shake. However, I was sadly disappointed last year as they no longer made the shake from scratch, but rather had it dump from some slurpee type machine. This year...same machine appeared, same disgusting, gooey shake came with it. I'm done with you McDonald's.

So I ask you good people of Chowhound, does a mint shake exist in LA and where can I find it? I know I can make it myself, but I want to order one at a restaurant and have it brought to me. Please tell me this exists somewhere in LA!

Oooohhhh, that place. I have seen it a bunch, and never wanted to go. My co-workers had a menu and were going to order there. I am glad I passed. Thanks!

Mr. Noodle on Broxton - Anyone been???

Has anyone been to Mr. Noodle on Broxton? I had not heard of it and could not find anything on the boards about it. Any info would be appreciated.

Armadillo on the Westside

Hello all-

My friend is from Uruguay where Armadillo is eaten every year in February. I searched the boards and only found it at the Hawaii Supermarket in San Gabriel. Does anyone know a place closer to the westside to get it? Any help would be great.

Thanks!

Graduation dinner for 17? 30 miles radius West LA. ~$40/person

Try Guido's in West LA. Good Italian food, a bit expensive, but should come under $50 a person if you don't load up on drinks. It has a large room that you can reserve for a big party that always looks like a lot of fun. It is a bit on the dark side, but I think that is a great bet if you want to be a bit loud.

Pepsi and Mountain Dew Throwback

I work with a lot of Hispanic people, and brought my 12-pack in to work. The first thing they said is how it tasted like Coke in Mexico. Half the people liked that, and the other half liked the Pepsi here.

Pepsi and Mountain Dew Throwback

Actually found Pepsi Throwback and Pepsi Natural at the Vons across the street from Bay Cities yesterday. Did not see MD Throwback there though.

Thanks. Did you enjoy it? I'm eager to try it and realized my time is running out, hence the post.

Pepsi and Mountain Dew Throwback

Does anyone know where to find these? I went on the Pepsi website and it says Pepsi Throwback isn't in a 50 mile radius of West La. That must be a mistake though...I hope. Any help would be great...

Pizzeria Mozza - Recommendations

I've heard the polarizing comments on Pizzeria Mozza, but I'm going tonight and wanted to get some good food recommendations. I have been once before and tried the fennel sausage pizza and mushroom pizza (both I thought were fantastic), and the budino for dessert. Any other recommendations would be fantastic. Thanks!

Hot Dogs on the Westside

Oh Marty's, I always forget about that one. I've never had the dogs there, just the burger. Thanks for the rec, that might be worth a quick trip.

Hot Dogs on the Westside

I know all about Carney's and Pink's, but it's Sunday and there's football on. I live in West LA and don't want to drive too far to grab a couple of hot dogs before the first game at noon. Does anyone have a good recommendation on the westside for hot dogs? I would love one chili dog, and one regular dog with all the fixings. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The Christmas Cannoli

It's not different from regular cannoli. I get into the habit of getting them for Christmas, hence the title. Sorry for the confusion. How's Bravo Pizzeria's cannoli?

The Christmas Cannoli

I need some help and have done a search for past advice about finding the cannoli, but all I found was that LA wasn't the place to find them. I'm heading to a Christmas party on Tuesday and hoping to find some to bring along. I'm leaving from West LA and heading to the South Bay for the party, so anything that falls along that line would be preferred. I've heard possibly Bay Cities, but that's all I found. Any other help would be great appreciated.

Hot Chocolate in Torrance

I'm heading to Torrance with my wife and brother tonight, and I'm looking to get us some really tasty hot chocolate. I know there are some places on the Westside, but does anyone know of some over in the South Bay?
