If you had to pick one restaurant to try in Silverlake...

i would say canele in atwater is best. maybe this reservoir place where nettys used to be will be good. i heard the chef was at aoc and lucques. gingergrass, blairs, edendale grill, cliff's edge all get business because there aren't any other options. the food and service are not very good at any of them. my suggestion in silverlake is drive to atwater.

My favorite fish taco; whats' yours?

Bloom which is on Pico is pretty good for grilled tacos. Very basic and fresh with cabbage and fesh salsa. tacos baja ensenada is great but sometimes a bit too far of a drive for me.

secret tantanmen ramen at hyatt in ebisu

my japanese foodie friend took me to the westin in ebisu and ordered the tantanmen ramen.
it was the best i have ever had. its not on the menu, you have to ask for it.
just thought i would put it out there. its pricy, i think 2500 but well worth it.

oden served daily

no onions. chef is japanese. i guess kimchi and natto has beome a big hit in japan. i guess the combination has some sort of health benefit. i ate there again yesterday, just the oden.
great for a cold day. cross steet is norton. small comfortable room with seating at the bar where you can watch the chef do his yakatori.

my friend took me to the park hyatt in ebisu and ordered a ramen that was not on the menu called tantanmen which was sesame based. it was the best ramen i have ever had.

oden served daily

ate at a restaraunt called kushiyaki dan yesterday by chance. anyways turns out they serve oden everyday. it was very good. also had nato with kimchi which i never had before. the chef is japanese, and for the most part it is traditional japanese yakatori and oden. they do have some japanese korean mixed items though.

Bloom Cafe on Pico(formerly Posh & Sierra Bonita) now open

i ate there this morning. great. i had huevos rancheros with white beans that was outstanding. very nice simple interior with lots of natural light, and friendly service.
the pound cake was excellent also. not too sweet. baked fresh daily.
i will be back often. i am not usually a go out to breakfast person with the exception of campanile on weekends or julliene in san marino. this place is just as good with much better prices.
