Help..looking for a good steakhouse rec. near burbank..brother flying in from japan! Hey guys, my brother is coming to la on monday, and since steak is expensive where his lives I would love to take him to a good steak restaurant near burbank. Yes, I have lived in burbank for years but couldn't think of a decent steak place to take him too, also looking for something in the 20 30 dollar range. Thanks! |

searching for oysters that won't break the bank When I used to live on oahu I was fortunate enough to get really cheap oysters that were the size of pancakes:) Here however, I have had a hard tine finding any at all. Although I have found some at the Santa Monica farmers market, they were way overpriced. Are there any reasonably priced oysters in LA? |

hands down, Chick -Fil-A is the best chicken sandwich I have ever had...... |

Valencia Dining Recs(near Six flags) Hi all, just started a job near the six flags amusement park in valencia and am eager to find out what places y'all recommend to eat at. Seriously, I live in Noho, so I have a feeling that the fare out there is on a whole different level than what I am used too. Any recs would greatly be appreciated. Thanks... |

Good eats in Burbank near Warner Bros for lunch? in case you are in the mood for quick, quality mexican takeout, head over to taco llama next to the car wash which is a block down from the Magnolia and Cahuenga intersection. And I second the Kansas City BBQ, amazing.... |
|
|
That's the funny thing about it, I could have said it was boring but in fact it was awful bbq. My god, the sauce on the ribs tasted like burnt cigarettes, I have never tasted anything like that and wonder how one could screw up a sauce to that extent. KC does it right and am very impressed with that place, but nothin' beats tenn bbq..... |
|

Same ownership huh? Man, that bbq joint was so horrific I don't see how they are going to switch gears and make something tolerable or yet, good to replace that hack site of a bbq shop. |

not anymore for the moment, at least here in burbank..... |

Looking for a store that sells a good version of either, just throwing it out there...Currently living in NOHO. |

Need recs for great food in Savannah... I so miss Savannah, great historical city to live in, as well as great food. Anyway here are the best places I went to on a regular basis for over five years. Vinnie Van Go Go, 317 W Bryan St, Savannah, GA 31401 The Tea Room The Lady and Sons Crab Shack at Chimney Creek Also on the waterfront in the historic district there is a great place to get pecan pies, and the turtles are amazing. also check out the ghost tours through downtown, they take you to all of the cool haunts of savannah, here are the good ones http://www.ghostsavannah.com/ |

Thanks Divefan, I think we had a baby blues in savannah or was that red hot and blue? Anyway, I'm pretty open to all types of BBQ as long as it's not too overpriced and overcooked. Unlce Flips falls into both catagories, leaving me with a feeling that I was completely ripped off. Thanks again for the links, maybe there is a winner somewhere out here in LA:) |

Ok, being a transplant from Tennesse for over five years, I sometimes have a craving for some BBQ in LA when I am desperate for a taste like home. Don't get me wrong, I know that LA is not BBQ central but I try to weed out the good and bad places on sites like this. Since this place was recommended(Uncle Flips in NOHO), I wanted to try it out thinking that, hey it's recommended, it can't be that bad right? wrong. My God, it was the worst BBQ I have ever tasted, unedible, and I was a desperate for some, any kind of BBQ. I went in full stock and barrel, ordering the full slab of St. Louis Ribs for $17.99, my mistake, the ribs were burnt beyond belief with this sauce that takes like I was eating cigeratte butts. But I do agree that the sides were ok, but that was a little more than a spoonful of helpings. How depressing, I don't think I ever go to another BBQ place in LA again. Not worth the price or trouble for places who do not know what passes as BBQ in the real world. Stay away....stay far away.. |

This is a longshot but I'm trying to find a good place to order tamales online that can be sent to the east coast for a b'day gift. Just wanted to see if there is anyone out there who has tried this or any feedback on where I can find some good tamales online. Thanks. |

hot wings...do quality wings exist out here? Being a transplant for the southeast, I always try to find good wings but seem to fail over and over. I live in the burbank area, and am in dire need of some, so any help in finding the golden wing would be great. |

Good Bakeries in North Hollywood Thanks for all of the info! Didn't know there were so many to choose from:) |

Good Bakeries in North Hollywood I have not yet found any good bakeries in the North Hollywod/Burbank area. Does anyone know of any? |

Bay Cities Deli is very good but if you are in the North Hollywood area, I found a great italian deli called: Roma Deli They have great deli sandwiches that are quite inexpensive. |
