I found Mexican Coke in NJ! (No HFCS!)
I posted about this a few months ago.
I found it at Wegmans in Freehold.
I bought just one bottle, and really couldn't tell the difference.
China Bowl - Edison closed?
Excellent news!!!
Those inspectors can be a royal pain in the behind.
Can't wait for them to open, but are they going to have the same prices?
The new place seems snazzier than the old one.
Cathay 22 - does it have dim sum with the carts and all that jazz?
Wonder Seafood has dim sum 7 days a week, but it is cart service only on weekends.
Chinese restaurant near Edison used to be in Forest Hills...maybe?
Look on Google Maps to be certain; as I recall Old Post Road intersects Route 1 in two locations.
Chipotle coming to East Brunswick
Sunny Palace on Route 18 is very good dim sum.
Went to Blue Water Seafood once. Wasn't impressed.
Pizza Help
Today I was in Cranbury Pizza (exit 8A of NJ Turnpike) and there was a woman in there was born in Brooklyn who said the pizza there reminded her pizza from Brooklyn.
All I know is that the pizza is my favorite. I have never been to Delorenzo's, but Cranbury Pizza is good enough for me.
Where can I buy Honeybell oranges in NJ?
I bought Minneolas twice this season, once at Trader Joe's and once at Whole Foods.
Both times juicy but not very sweet.
Eh experience not a wow.
Mexican Coca-Cola [moved from New Jersey board]
I drank the Mexican Coca-Cola tonight.
Slightly less zip than USA Coca-Cola.
But if I hadn't know it was different, I am not sure I would have been able to taste a difference.
Asian Food Market coming soon in Marlboro
I buy my frozen endemame at ShopRite. Most of the ones you see in the stores are from China. The Picsweet Endamame in the bright orange-red bags are made in USA. My co-worker joked that they were probably grown by Korean or Japanese farmers in California.
Mexican Coca-Cola [moved from New Jersey board]
I had read that it is better tasting than the Coke that is made with high fructose corn syrup.
Well, I saw them at Wegmans in Freehold in the beverage area for the take-out food.
Didn't see any on the shelves in the beverages aisle.
I bought a bottle just to see how it is.
It is in the refrigerator now "chilling".
Best Chinese in Hightstown/East Windsor area?
I have been to the buffet near Shop Rite (Silver Spoon Buffet) several times since I have moved into the East Windsor area.
Dinners on Mondays - Thursdays started at $8.99 but then they raised it to $9.99 because they started including crab legs. Now it is $11.99 which is cheaper than the Super Star East Buffet in Lawrenceville, but more expensive than China Star Buffet in Dayton. They have fewer selections than Super Start East but more than China Star, so the price is about right.
Their selection of fresh fruits is very good.
Their other dishes are about similar quality as other buffets.
Asian Food Market coming soon in Marlboro
Thanks.
It looks like it is slightly further from me than the Asian Market in Plainsboro.
Asian Food Market coming soon in Marlboro
Where is the location again?
I may go there on Monday.
Was it packed today?
Sabrina's Pizza in East Windsor, NJ
I was just at Sabrina Pizza this afternoon.
They have the 2 slice (with toppings) + can of soda for $4.50 + tax.
Not bad, but I still like Cranbury Pizza better.
Best Chinese in Hightstown/East Windsor area?
I have been to the Shanghai Park in Highland Park when I used to live in North Brunswick, so it is a solid choice, but Princeton is easily 30 minutes from East Windsor. If I am going to drive there, I might as well take the Turnpike up to Edison.
I'll have to give Peking Pavilion a try, but they are easily 50% more than Chinese restaurants in Edison.
Best Chinese in Hightstown/East Windsor area?
I have been in the East Windsor area about 6 months and haven't eaten at a sitdown restaurant in the area much.
Yes, I gave Hunan House two chances both with take-out and it was mediocre. I can't imagine the food is any different in eating in.
Been to the Americana Diner. Liked it a lot.
Been to the Prestige Diner twice; so-so.
Perkins is so-so.
I personally wish that Charlie Brown's was still open. I like prime rib steak. What can I say?
Pizza I go to Cranbury. I should give Sabrina Pizza in the Staples shopping center a try though. Who knows? It may impress me.
And for Chinese I go to Edison. Up the Turnpike. Except for dim sum is at Sunny Palace in East Brunswick.
Best Chinese in Hightstown/East Windsor area?
There isn't a Chinese restaurant in the strip mall with the Staples. There is a Sushi King though.
Don't bother with Hunan House in the strip mall across from the Americana Diner.
There is nothing around here as far as I can tell, though I may give Hunan Wok a try.

Sabrina's Pizza in East Windsor, NJ
There's another thread about it.
Azzaro Brothers.
I didn't care for it. Mediocre.
Asian Food Market coming soon in Marlboro
The one on Route 1 by Ray Catena is Kam Man, but similar concept.
any good Chinese restaurants near Freehold?
I tried out the Shanghai Bun in Edison recently. Like it alot.
I have yet to try Noodlelicious on Rt 27. They were closed mid-Sunday afternoon.
Since I don't eat raw sushi, I'd lose money at places like Tokyo Sushi buffet.
I gave Hunan House in East Windsor two tries via takeout. Both times very mediocre.

any good Chinese restaurants near Freehold?
I ended up having lunch at Freehold Grand Buffet today.
Weekend lunch is $9.99
They had Chinese-style roast duck. Yum. I took a drumstick.
Their rice noodle was done well - not too wet like some places tend to make them.
Food was replenished at good pace.
Also liked their seafood soup.
any good Chinese restaurants near Freehold?
:)
I saw the buffet place on Google Maps.
May give that place a try since their weekend lunch price is probably $8.99 like the one that is here in East Windsor.
I may head on over to Crown Palace when a friend visits this coming weekend.

any good Chinese restaurants near Freehold?
Thanks for all the suggestion.
Wow. A tad expensive is right, but their luncheon specials look okay. It doesn't say on their website whether it is M-Su or just M-F.
any good Chinese restaurants near Freehold?
I know Edison is where it action is so to speak, but since I live near East Windsor and go shopping on weekends in Freehold, I was hoping that there was something decent near Freehold Raceway Mall.
???
Azzaro Brothers Pizza and Tomato Pies - Coming to East Windsor
I was just there again yesterday. Love them!
Wonder Seafood DIM SUM Edison any menu suggestions?
Their dim sum is excellent.
Even at lunch on weekdays it gets crowded unless you get there at 11am or get there after 1pm. You might have to share a table.
Wonder Seafood DIM SUM Edison any menu suggestions?
During off-hours, you order from a menu, no carts. However, their non-dim sum lunch menu is very good as well.
Azzaro Brothers Pizza and Tomato Pies - Coming to East Windsor
Yes, the E. Windsor location next to ShopRite.
I ordered a slice of cheese and a slice of onions+green peppers.
The crust was a bit too overdone for my taste.
Azzaro Brothers Pizza and Tomato Pies - Coming to East Windsor
I stopped by Sunday afternoon based on the reviews here.
Not impressed. Disappointed. Won't be going back again.
Cranbury Pizza still my favorite.
