Food delivery for the disabled

Why not ask/appeal directly to people who read this board to do it themselves? Personally speaking I would consider it if I could manage it along with the other mouths I have to feed, my job and other obligations. Feel free to contact me. Depends on your location and exact needs.
Or use this opportunity to connect with a neighbor or friend. Belong to a church? Live near one? They may be accustomed to doing just this.
Have a "soup kitchen" near by? The one I cook at ( in Cambridge) once a month has able people pick up for the disabled.
Have a disabilties commission in your city?
If you are considering a culinary student ( I like this idea) include Le Cordone Blu in Cambridge.
I can also help identify an unemployed person who may love the opportunity.

Planning for a new public market in Boston

I am of the mind that one in Cambridge would be just fine. Councilor Henrietta Davis is in the midst of a committee on food. I have proposed the idea to the group and would like to encourage the city to sponsor a year round farmers market. Cambridge has the capital to do so. Please contact those in our fair city to help make this a reality. Or contact me.

Help! Dinner with pre-teens near Central Square?

I'd suggest ZuZu's as they have kabobs, rice pilaf, etc and a great vibe or Miracle of Science for a menu that includes kabobs, burgers etc or Azgard with a safe menu in a well run restaurant, clean & friendly or Toscanini's or a few blocks down River st River Gods or further down Basta Pasta.

cafe in central square?

Cafe Baraka or Barada. I ate there a few days ago. Very pleasant service, nice quiet atmosphere. Middle Eastern food. I had an avocado pressed wrap with some marinated carrots. My green tea could have been better. It was not loose and the presentation could be improved. Great place for a book or a chat.

Help need restaurants for business lunches w/private room

In Cambridge I'd recomend Sandrines in Harvard Square or John harvards Brew House. Harvard grads find the Harvard Faculty Club useful. The Hyatt Regency Hotel does a nice job. Most hotels are accustomed to supporting meetings and have A/V etc

CSA's are the quintessential chow topic

I believe that this board ought to promote csa talk more. They are the quintessence of food. Fresh, organic, skip the middle man, support local farmers, give us a chance to be a part of the whole process, bring chowhounds together etc.
I had posted (on Boston) looking for others to go in with me on Plato's Harvest csa. My posting was removed.
Instead I see postings for "the coke with a yellow cap" or Noni juice" or Jenny Craige, Nutrisystems taste?".

CSA's are local and need to be on local boards. Please include them in your/our mission. Lets see? should we discuss a product with high fructose corn syrup, for profit weight loss gimmics or CSA's?

Chestnut Farms CSA

Don't know CF but would like to find others interested in Plato's Harvest csa. They are organic & offer eggs too. 475 full/250 half. We'd need to alternate pick ups. I am in Cambridge.

need 4-6 others for platos harvest csa

I would like to find 4-6 others who would alternate picking up csa shares at Plato's Harvest CSA. They are located in Middleboro. One hour from Cambridge. They offer full shares @ $475.00 and half shares @ $250.00. They also offer eggs @ $60.00.
They are organic & are also at the Harvard/Cambridge farmers market on Tuesdays. They can not manage a drop of but will tolerate us if we do it ourselves. This would require a car trip 4-6 times per season. And us coordinating drop off pick ups with one another.

Put on baking sheets that hive oil on the bottom. Bake in a hot oven for 30-50 minutes until 165 degrees. Serve with rice & beans & sauteed plantans.

Boston Area CSA

I was a part of Busa 2 years ago. They where close by (lexington/arlington line) (non-certified) organic and fair. With pick your own beans, basil, & other herbs, and tomatos.

Can anyone comment on the Farm School? They have a Tuesday pick up at Iggy's, are $600/share. Any other organic ones I am missing?

best source for fleur de sel near cambridge

Please help me find the best source of fleur de sel (and other salts) around Cambridge. It seems that Christina's is expensive as is Formagio's.

Any brand that you'd recomend?
