Mastro's Steak House - Scottsdale Very much agree with the poster who complained that you have to shout to be heard by your partner. This place is frequented by the male golfing crowd who get louder and louder with each drink and tall tales of almost birdies. I'd take Flemings any day over Mastro's. |

Obviously, no one has tried the Tomato Gin Soup at White Chocolate Grill on Mayo. We always take extra home with us. Give it a try and report back to this board......! |

This was our 'go to' place for guaranteed fine dining and while we share everyone's saddness about the closing, the good news is Matthew and Deborah are expecting their first child. They've decided to catch their breath and perhaps let the recession run its course. I expect it will be just a matter to time before they are back in the game which will be welcome news to all their many supporters......! |

Not far away, in the Hamlet of Claremont, is The Old Brock Cafe where Peggy serves up the best burger, IMHO! If any of you out there come from Winnipeg and know and appreciate the Salisbury Nip, then you will love Peggy's burgers! |

I also got caught in the Johnny's hype. I grew up with Salisbury House 'NIPS' in Winnipeg so there rest of you Winterpeggers out there will agree that we know a good burger. On a scale of 1 - 10, I would give Johnny's a 5 at best...! |

All kitchen tongs seem to be straight so that when you reach into a steaming caldron to retrieve something you get a 3rd degree burn! Where can I get a tong that is curved at the end so this doesn't happen? I will have so many 'brownie points' with my wife if I come up with this, you can't imagine.....! |

Have eaten at both Tin Mill and 66 on Brock and they are both excellent. Tin Mill also does catering..! |

French Toast Christmas Morning My job is Christmas morning brunch. I'm going to do French Toast and am interested in anyone's favourite recipes. Generally I use egg nog to soak the bread with a little rum in it. Any variations on that theme? The bread is always a challenge. What is the best bread to use for French Toast? Looking forward to the responses! |

Can't remember who recommended Nella's (Queen Street East) but went there yesterday and my wife found exactly what she was looking for. Great selection of everything 'restaurant'! Thanks to this board for great input! |

Toronto’s Best Butter Tarts Aren’t in Toronto If you are driving north of Whitby on Hwy 23, stop at Hy Hope Farm. You won't be disappointed in their butter tarts! |

Looking for a restaurant supply company in the Toronto area, preferably east side, where I can get a large, heavy duty roasting pan to take a 26 lb+ turkey. Any suggestions? Thanks |
