Parker House Rolls
Does anyone know any bakeries that sell Parker House Rolls (not brioche rolls). I had some at the John Dory and they were damn good. Hosting dinner party and don't have time to deal with trying to make them myself.
Is there any really good bread out there?
Try Payard on Houston Street or Blue Ribbon Bakery market on Bedford. I also like Le Pain Quotien.

Pastry chef / London Chowhounder visiting NY, need your help please!
Payard is still good but it's more of a quick casual bakery then the French patisserie it once was when it was on Lexington. He still has his pastries at this location along with sandwiches. I had probably the best ham and cheese quiche ever recently but I didn't get a chance to have any dessert.

Looking to buy home made Polish sausages
Looking for a deli or butcher shop that sells home made or carries a good Polish sausages. Ideally somewhere downtown or even in Brooklyn.
Best Lobster Rolls in NYC
Ed's Lobster Bar in Soho has the best lobster roll. Very light on the mayo and a very generous serving of lobster meat. The fries are also excellent.
Fried whole belly clams
Ed's Lobster Bar in Soho has amazing clam bellies. They will not disappoint. Their lobster roll is also excellent. It's on Lafayette between Spring and Kenmare.
Yakitori - St. Marks
Looking for yakitori recommendations besides Yakitori Taisho near St. Marks or downtown.
Where can I buy langoustines in NYC?
Looking for fresh langoustines. Anyone know of any special markets that sell them?
Pork belly
You will find it at any butcher in chinatown and it is very inexpensive compared to any upmarket place. I like the butcher on Mulberry between Canal and Bayard.
Tigerland
Cute restaurant but the food is lacking. Everything was bland and seemed like they blanded it down for people who are maybe afraid of fish sauce. You're better off going to Chinatown.
Losing my religion (fried chicken)
Yes, it's pricey but the fried chicken is worth it at Blue Smoke. It's always juicy and has never disappointed. What's disappointing is the bbq. What you should not miss is the short rib special they have on Wed and what ever dessert special they have is always delicious.
Bon Bon Chicken is a Korean fried chicken chain that is suppose to be tasty. They just opened a location in Ktown.
Zen Palate-able?
I have to agree that the food at Zen Palate is not good at all. The combinations I think are kind of gross. You should try Gobo instead on 6th ave near W. 8th street. Owned by the same family members but the food is much better. Love the salt and pepper mushroom dish.
Good Knives
Does anyone know a place that sells good knives? Obviously I can get them at Sur la Table, Broadway Panhandler or William Sonoma but I am looking for someone who is a real artisan.
When I lived in San Francisco I use to go to Columbus Cutlery and this guy was a true craftsman. My knives were like swords after he sharpened them.
